Ein traumhaftes Lied. Wäre toll, wenn das Lied: "Belle qui tiens ma vie" in einem Spielfilm mit den gutaussehenden und netten Schauspieler Matthias Koeberlin eingespielt wird. Ein Lied zum Verlieben. Jana Andrea aus Dresden
@eatspork123 Beautiful one who hold my life, Captive in your eyes; Who bewitched my soul, With a gracious smile; Come to free me, Or I shall die. Why would you flee, sweet one, If near you, I am? When at your eyes I gaze, Within me, I loose myself. For your perfection, Alter the nature of my acts.
@eatspork123 You beauty and grace And divine words Has mealted the ice Which had frozen my bones And has filled my heart With loving ardour. My soul had wished To be free of passions, But love has made itself master Of my affection; And has put under its rule Both my heart and faith.
@eatspork123 Come near, my beautiful one, Come near, my good; Do not stay way from me any longer. Since my heart is yours, Free me of my sorrow; Kiss me. I am dying, my Angelette, I die as I kiss you; Your lips, so sweet, Oh! My lovely one, At once, my mind Is besotted with love.
(On the last two, he uses an expression which cannot be translated - like a play on words. So, I tried to play on military conquests - compared to love which conquered the singer - and it, being so strong that will not diminish, even from a grain of sand - again in refference to military conquest. Best I could do.)
I like your voice. Good job, we sang this in my choir many years ago. Great memories and a beautiful song with great lyrics for those who understand french. (Belle qui tiens ma vie=Beauty that holds my life, doens't sound as cheesey in french =) )
I don't speak French at all, so it sounds great to me :) I really like a lot of the art that you chose for the video. Can you tell me anything about the piece at 2:01? Like where I might find it in it's entirety or the name of the artist, or what year it is from? It looks to be Italian.
Beautifully done! Somehow this voice and instrumental made me feel like I had returned to that time and experienced hallowed friendship which is the essence of this music. thanks!
Thanks a lot... well, this is all about after all, and my mission is fulfilled in that invoked echo of inspiring friendship overarching times, distances, cultures.
Typical a "bockwurst-german" writing this invalid comment: samada3us must be in the same order as Zyclon 'B: look at Falthy Towers "The Germans" and learn how stupid the are!
What a coincidence... just today I watched that episode of Fawlty Towers... well, that's rather sensitive, my late parents were Holocaust survivors, thanks to the noble Bulgarian nation...
you really have a great voice, and I like the way you sing this song. Last year I sang this song at a wedding...it's beautiful and your French is better than mine....
Samada, das ist die Erriffenheit, deswegen jaulen auch etlich Töne etwas von unten nach oben und zurück, so dass Nachbars Lumpi gern mitjaulen möchte: Auuuu.....auuuuuuu!
Point well taken. My native language is Hebrew, and I speak fluent English and Bulgarian. I love French, but my knowledge of it is rather limited. I am aware of the accent point you brought forward. In fact I took a singing example from a well known group of Renaissance singers (which are not French), that stress the "e" suffix. However, I do understand that it may sound harsh to French speakers. I just hope that you enjoyed the piece despite the flaw in question.
¡ Que hermosa voz!! Quien es???

This is only a mp3 piano sound. Clavicembalo's sound is not at all like this... In harpsichord, there is "harp" word, and there is a reason... =)

Perhaps, but his pronunciation is flawed at many points. It sounds like a spanish speaker sang a french song with his accent.

Sooner, we will witness the waves
Flow backward;
And sooner will the moon,
Stop shinning;
Than the love which conquered me,
Yield a single grain.

And also, Angelette is a name, but it could also be an expression meaning little angel.

15. Numai bine.

The tempo is fine. But i this music the tones have to been clear throughout their durance. it does not have to sound like brushing the teeth :-)
A g is a g and doesnt make a development from d sharp to a sharp back and forth.

I would suggest you don't pronounce the "e" at all.
"Ravi" instead of "ravi-e"
Also, if you know how to pronounce the German "ü", pronounce all the "U"s this way.
Other than that, good job! Being a linguist, I understand how hard it can be for you to speak perfect French since it's so different from Hebrew.
maximepaquin 3 years ago
you should not make accents where they don't belong, like on vi-e and ravi-e. It's not very beautiful, it takes the flow out of the piece.
