Scences like this, music like this, editing like this, emotion like this.. damn.... and people wonder WHY I miss Smallville so badly... and yet, it seems so obvious to me - this show was EPICALLY AWESOME! #WeAllNeedAndWantAHeroInOurLives
The episode title "Requiem" and the lyrics of this song refer to death, in this case Lex Luthor's death. It could also refer to the metaphorical death of Clark and Lana's relationship, or the song and the title could be a clue that Lana actually died after this episode, which could be true because we never heard anything about what she did with her new powers.
see if u like me have seen smallville scince the beginning u know tht in this scene clark is still sad tht he lost one of his old friends lex deep down he was still his friend
@erosensai a smallville movie would be good but i doubt they'd do one so close to the other superman movie. a new...new adventures of superman with tom would be good but then i reckon it would be just the same as smallville seeing as the last few seasons it was more metropolis than smallville. also all the villains have been used pretty much lol it staying finished isn't the worst thing though. rather it die a good death than end up getting tiresome if it goes on too long
No one ever talks about how Clark's constant lying helped to lead the man he called his best friend onto a path of darkness. Way to go , Clark, ya douche!
@darkmike333 Clark lied to all his other friends too and none of them became evil because of it.
that wasn't the reason Lex became evil. in fact he couldn't have turned evil sooner if he knew clark's secret because he would have been even more jealous of Clark than he already was
Sure, Lex had his faults, but he didn't too anything extremely serious, helped them out a few times, and was trying to do what was right. Plus, they were stealing from his company, so Lex could have killed Lana, but decided to separate her from Clark: the girl is alive.
Didn't do anything serious? How about the fact that he killed his own father? The past few seasons all he had done is lie, steal, and kill people. I'm not saying Oliver was right for this, and I'm not saying Lex is beyond redemption, but to say that he didn't have this coming isn't right?
so powerful! It gets me every time I watch it. The music is perfect, the acting is dead on. An amazing ending to a love story that took 8 years to fully tell.
smallville's music is always brilliant!!! for example this.. if it wasn't for smallville, i would never now about this song. and now that i know, it's 1 of my favourites at the moment!!!!
@Keyo09 Lex used to be Clark's friend. and Clark regrets not being able to save Lex and prevent his fall to evil and darkness which eventually destroyed him
metallo is in season 9, the toybomber dude shows up again, and when he's thrown in jail at the end of the episode, Tess gives him Metallo's heart, telling him to figure out how it works, and thats pretty much a dead giveaway. (who else has a kryptonite heart?)
ma nn si puo' uccidere lex luthor..ke cavolata...il personaggio + importante insieme a clark kent...bsta smallville ha chiuso con me..mi fermo alla 7 stagione cm lex luthor.
You have to understand that if Michael Rosenberg doesn't want to work with smallville anymore, the directors and producer can't put another man to do Lex Luthor!!!
that's right but what kind of telefilm will be smallville without lex???its not the same thing without him..the hero can't exist without his "storical" enemy...and personally lex was my favourite character in the smallville's series..so for me smallville finish with lex luthor's end.
eh...I understand. but i very much enjoyed the whole 'Day & Age' album and thought it'd do well at the ending. But I know what you mean why the classic Superman score, but I thought i'd be fitting considering Clark (speculation) might die and Lois might be there with the classic "Superman's Dead" headline. He's already dissapeard once -- what's another couple of months? But I think it'd fit.
i didn't watch any of them from 'Bride' til 'Infamous'. I tuned in to see the ending of this epi. 'cause i wanted to see how they'd portray her leaving and for 'Infamous' when I heard my song...then felt dissapointed they wasted it in this epi.
I find Smallville greatly overrated, but scenes like this - with the music, the emotion of the characters, the great tragedy, and the loss of innocence of Kent and Queen - make it more than worthwhile. Fantastic.
I wonder what clark was thinking...

I hate Queen for murdering Lex.
Sure, Lex had his faults, but he didn't too anything extremely serious, helped them out a few times, and was trying to do what was right. Plus, they were stealing from his company, so Lex could have killed Lana, but decided to separate her from Clark: the girl is alive.

I didnt really get this scene, why did Clark spread Lex's ashes, I thought he hated him for preventing him from being with Lana.

@Keyo09 He considers it his fault that Lex became evil in the first place, and is really paying respect to the lex that died a long time ago, i think

they shoulda used MY FAV SONG FROM THIS ALBUM on/in the finale...not waste it on a stupid Clana epi.

I actually think this song works well in this montage. Considering i really disliked this episode.
It wouldn't work in the finale. Considering where the finale is going, i see that episode being more of the classical Superman like score.
