True love saved Snape - even though he was a broken, shell of a man after Lily died: full of self loathing for losing her. People who hate tehmselves aren't always the most pleasant company. However, he didn't have to spend the rest of his life & eventually lose it, trying to protect Harry for Lily. He could've become even angrier and stayed with Voldie to detroy the boy who was proof that Lily chose his worst enemy instead of him. That's no silly crush; that's love in it's truest form.
I'm not sure if I like Snape because I like Alan Rickman (I knew he played Snape in the movies even before I saw them) so I wish I didn't know Alan played him because then I could judge if I like him or not because of the book. All I know is I didn't hate him (probably partly because I didn't like Harry one hundred percent so I didn't care as much that he was mean to him) and now I can relate to him more then any other character.

Oh god. After all this time, I still love this video soooo much. I can't even tell you. Especially the part at 4:03 Nobody seems to have noticed Snape's dedication to save the trio, when the 3rd movie came out (even though it was one of the most famous Harry Potter-pictures to that time) and you finally pointed the similarity between him and Lily out.
Even though Snape seemed like the "bad guy" in most most of the book, I always had this feeling that I was wrong about him and that there is something good in him. Well to this day, I am glad I was wrong. I feel so bad for the pain that Severus had to go through. For that and many other reasons, the Half-Blood Prince, Severus Snape, shall forever be my favorite character of all.

You know, I used to really hate Snape because he hated Harry and he was mean, ect. ect. but after finishing the series watching a whole bunch of Severus/Lily videos, I realize how much pain Snape went through. He struggled with Lily's death and he wanted to protect Harry because of her but he hated Harry because of James. He had a hard life! He is now one of my favs because J.K. Rowling created an amazing history for all her characters. :)
I agree completely. It's really hard to like Snape in the first couple of books, but after finishing the series, he became my favorite character. I'm a sucker for those "misunderstood" characters that you hate at first, but the author makes you love later, like Snape, and also Itachi Uchiha for people who watch anime. I actually like Snape a lot more than James (we are told he "grew up" after that scene by the lake but never shown it), and I wish he were Harry's father xD.
Wow, this is.. incredible! Your editing is flawless and the song is perfect! Severus and Lily have to be my favorite ship outside of the HP-verse so imagine my excitement in finding fanvids of them! I think it's such a shame she chose James over him. I don't think anyone loved Lily as much as Severus. But then of course if Lily and James hadn't gotten together, Harry Potter would cease to exist and with it the entire franchise. Still I wish Severus could have at least told her how he felt.
I love that clip with Snape and Harry, where he (Snape) grabs Harry in anger and then stops because Harry is looking back at hims with those eyes. The fact that David Yates included it, when we would all know the significance after reading DH is a lovely bit of directing. I think Yates is fantastic, I know he gets a lot of slack from some fans for allegedly messing too much but he drops in some beautiful moments like this one.
Must be awesome that this thing's still generating so much praise considering you did it right after DH came out. But that's definately for a reason! This was so wonderfully done, and you connect the moments in the movies with the song so well. The ending I think is my favorite, showing those times he protected Harry, it gave me the same feeling when I read that chapter of the book. You did a very great job.
I loved the part toward the end where Snape is protecting Harry from the werewolf (yes, I know it's Lupin =P) and thinking about Lily. That part really got to me.
J.K.Rowling did Snape perfectly, I mean you watch/read the long storyline of Harry Potter with hating Severus, and suddenly in the end of the series he dies and you feel yourself stupid when you realize that you hated a good man who also is the bravest man of the series. ;D
@Tsunamia9 Snape never was a "good" man, he was bitter, full of anger, got no respect for anybody, long story short an awful person. That's fact. Now, he was an incredibly brave, courageous and loyal man. No question. Which are very important and excellent qualities but Severus really wasn't someone i would call "good". He let his bitterness and frustration take over and because of that lived quite a miserable life. Sad story no question.

@redkitty123 In the movie they tried to have Daniel(harry) have green contacts but he couldn't ware them becasue they were bugging him so they just had him with blue eyes so they tried to have harry have green eyes like Lilly's but didn't work out well
It is hard to think of Snape and being young and in love, but hell, we are all young once, right? Poor Lily chose Harry's dad but I would have gone for Snape. In Snape's memories Harry's dad was a bit of a bully...too much like Draco. uhmmm

Really really beautiful, good choice of song too. The opening sequence, where Harry sees Snape and Lily in Snape's memories and realises that he was in love with her made my skin tingle, it was so well put together. Snape is such a complicated character, absolutely love him. I think Alan Rickman gets him spot on. Great vid, you really captured Snape's feelings.

Best Snape&Lily video ever! The editing is so great and the music. It drove me to tears. I love it and I love Severus Snape he's the best character in the Potter universe!

You know, I used to really hate Snape because he hated Harry and he was mean, ect. ect. but after finishing the series watching a whole bunch of Severus/Lily videos, I realize how much pain Snape went through. He struggled with Lily's death and he wanted to protect Harry because of her but he hated Harry because of James. He had a hard life! He is now one of my favs because J.K. Rowling created an amazing history for all her characters. :)

I agree completely. It's really hard to like Snape in the first couple of books, but after finishing the series, he became my favorite character. I'm a sucker for those "misunderstood" characters that you hate at first, but the author makes you love later, like Snape, and also Itachi Uchiha for people who watch anime. I actually like Snape a lot more than James (we are told he "grew up" after that scene by the lake but never shown it), and I wish he were Harry's father xD.

Wow, this is.. incredible! Your editing is flawless and the song is perfect! Severus and Lily have to be my favorite ship outside of the HP-verse so imagine my excitement in finding fanvids of them! I think it's such a shame she chose James over him. I don't think anyone loved Lily as much as Severus. But then of course if Lily and James hadn't gotten together, Harry Potter would cease to exist and with it the entire franchise. Still I wish Severus could have at least told her how he felt.

I love that clip with Snape and Harry, where he (Snape) grabs Harry in anger and then stops because Harry is looking back at hims with those eyes. The fact that David Yates included it, when we would all know the significance after reading DH is a lovely bit of directing. I think Yates is fantastic, I know he gets a lot of slack from some fans for allegedly messing too much but he drops in some beautiful moments like this one.

Must be awesome that this thing's still generating so much praise considering you did it right after DH came out. But that's definately for a reason! This was so wonderfully done, and you connect the moments in the movies with the song so well. The ending I think is my favorite, showing those times he protected Harry, it gave me the same feeling when I read that chapter of the book. You did a very great job.

I loved the part toward the end where Snape is protecting Harry from the werewolf (yes, I know it's Lupin =P) and thinking about Lily. That part really got to me.

J.K.Rowling did Snape perfectly, I mean you watch/read the long storyline of Harry Potter with hating Severus, and suddenly in the end of the series he dies and you feel yourself stupid when you realize that you hated a good man who also is the bravest man of the series. ;D

@Tsunamia9 Snape never was a "good" man, he was bitter, full of anger, got no respect for anybody, long story short an awful person. That's fact. Now, he was an incredibly brave, courageous and loyal man. No question. Which are very important and excellent qualities but Severus really wasn't someone i would call "good". He let his bitterness and frustration take over and because of that lived quite a miserable life. Sad story no question.

@redkitty123 In the movie they tried to have Daniel(harry) have green contacts but he couldn't ware them becasue they were bugging him so they just had him with blue eyes so they tried to have harry have green eyes like Lilly's but didn't work out well

Really really beautiful, good choice of song too. The opening sequence, where Harry sees Snape and Lily in Snape's memories and realises that he was in love with her made my skin tingle, it was so well put together. Snape is such a complicated character, absolutely love him. I think Alan Rickman gets him spot on. Great vid, you really captured Snape's feelings.

Maybe it's just the clips, but for some reason Snapes love for Lily reminds me of Jacob Blacks for Bella Swan (Twilight) like, he'll keeps waiting for her, though he knows he'll never get her, just to be sure she's happy...
