I have verizon fios and I HATE it I can't wait until my contract is up..... The internet is exactlly the same and I think they sell my information to other companies because I've never had any marketers calling me until I got verizon. I just checked my phone and I have 27 messages ALL from marketers. Their customer service is HORRIBLE someone actually hung up the phone on me after I spent 10 min. talking to a damn machine.
not sayin fios sucks but at&t u-verse is better..i mean dah tv interface. dah honestli dah onli thing verizon has on at&t is dah internat and dats by far but the phone service is better on u-verse and so isz the tv dah tv interface isz gloss see through itsz mad nice VZ aint got dat
Dud check out the updated Fios TV(updated in dec 2008.)... now thats an awsome interface, the most advanced there is.. you have to check it out, almost futuristic. makes at&t look out dated

If you still don't have cable or DSL in your area then you sure won't be getting FIOS in your area anytime soon either. If you really want high speed internet go with satellite or move.
FiOs is awesome. I have both FiOs TV and Internet. For TV, it's just amazing quiality. And it has a really big library of On Demand videos. For the internet, all I can say is they make 5 mbps seem like 15 mbps.
before when we had 15mbps the speed test said it was 100 Mbps :-0
Now we have 5mbps. Speed test says:
download = 4216 kbps
upload = 1829
would seem slow at that speed, but it's actually somewhat more fast than DSL/Cable, probably fast as T1 even. I dunno, I'm just a kid, so I'd ask someone else before you consider buying it. But maybe if there was a FiOs speed test made for FiOs, it'd probably give more accurate results. I can try to upload a video if you like of me surfing the web :)

Slow? Are you crazy? Dude Knology is having issues with my area and I'm getting 19kbps average on and off, most of the time off XD.
Anyways the reason I asked is because I have 2 neighbors who bought it and say they notice no increase in speed.
Thanks, and sure you can upload a vid if you want, just make sure to clear your cash/temporary internet files before you do it though :)
