Before the Iphone came about mobile web browsing was more of just a novelty I think, it didnt really serve a purpose and it was slow and un-useful due to the very limited functionality of websites that optimized its website in to support mobile web. It was more if just a "wow, well thats preety cool." kind of thing. Then when the Iphone came about mobile web browsing really was functional and useful like it would be on any computer.

I can't say the test seemed very fair. He did not clear the cache on either I-phone after he ran the first test. Also by default opera renders pages in mobile there might be speed differences in the two different modes. Also I can not see why he did not test some other browsers, like skyfire or IE or the new version of FF for mobile. I don't really think its a OS level issue, its a app issue.

The page loaded slower the first time on the Gs. The second time it was probably cached in memory and that's why it loaded so fast.

Yes you fucktard, the Omnia runs html browser which displays each page in full. It doesnt have a mobile page like the Iphone's use. And if you were from pocketnow i would think you might know about cache and that the difference in loading a full html page fresh vs a cached mobile page would make a huge difference. its not a fair test between any of the devices..to be a fair test it would be good if you cleared the cache, cookies, and history on each device. then try the test because once the iphone or even the omnia has been to a site it goes alot quicker when its already in the memory. i would like to see this video redone and see the cookies, cache and history cleared on screen to make a fair test.

Like everyone has said, the 3GS was faster because the page was in memory/cached. You should have cleared the cookies/cache/history on the iphone before doing the test or loaded the Omnia with the page first and then did the test.
