The Royal Racer is on of the best episodes of Speed Racer. That has the Prince & The Pauper type storyline. it has one of my favorite line. " No Monkeys allowed in the Royal car." Great episode.

The "G" on Speed's shirt stands for "Go", which was Speed's name in Japan and also means "Five" in Japanese... it's very much a play on words.

Oh, but I do enjoy this show, even though Speed had a REAL name in the original Japanese version from what I read (In Japan I think his name was Go Mifune).
