Ways to teach the drop on recall

Thanks Janice. I hope Kodi will master this by the end of the week. We are transitioning right now to seniors. I was told to whistle sit. I am going to try to do it with treats instead with negative stuff with the collar. The pro doesn't need to know how I got him to drop on whiste.

He is such a good dog!! Going in for TDI (therapy test) in a few weeks. He sat on stay last night with a rottie, full sized poodle, and mastiff going crazy. He was rock solid.

Thanks for the ideas. I used your "get it" with Lacey when she was a little puppy, and her drop on recall was no problem at all.

Is "hurry" your command for the recall?

Yes, correct, hurry is my recall word for the ring and competition training. I use here and come for field word and when going for walks so wanted to use a different word.

Thanks for this. I don't teach this, but now I have a recipe. I love the final drop on recall when she puts her chin on the broad jump. Very good Raisin. ~ Woofs and Wags, DTDT.
