All respects you are a great guitarist, but when it comes to teachin it, you make it difficult to grasp, its not easy understanding what "this" is and what "that is" and then jumping back and forth through parts of the song, apart from that, badass cover
Really good but I have an objection. When I hear the riff carefuly, just at the beginning after the part with so many G in quavers, then you make (always in quavers)
F D F F(oct) F#(oct) D F# F#(oct) G(oct)
but it really sounds
F D F F(oct) F#(oct) F# F# F#(oct) G(oct)
And it is so in the whole track. Listen to it carefully and you will hear it!!
yes, after listening i also agree - must have missed it when i did the video originally! I can't be bothered to re-record the video so it will do for now :P
Maybe...i do like to laugh at over-dubbed films. I guess i'll just try harder in future. I did all the videos for this song just after the album came out, maybe i should have taken a little longer! When i get round to it i was considering a lessons on uprising and mk ultra too.
Hi, it depends - more often that not i look up various tabs and check them against the song using my ears...quite a lot of tabs are rubbish so i do my best to get everything as accurate as possible.
Im not in a band right now, i write and record my own instrumental stuff. One day i might finish an album!
I have a few other lessons if you click my user name and im expecting to do more very soon. Im having problems with converting video and finding somewhere good to record in my house. When im ready im doing more lessons and im going to record and release a DVD of lessons...
really nice lesson but i feel its MUCH easier to just slide ur index finger over going from 3 to 4 on second D string as well as 4 to 5 rather than using 2nd and 3rd fingers. oh well maybe ur way looks cooler :) lol
Yeah i know the bit your talking about. I choose to use separate fingers because i think its better for note separation. Having said that, i can do both so i guess your right, this one just looks cooler ; )
Superb lesson. The clearest and most helpful ive seen so far :P I love that song now my fav muse song and i can now play it :D Just the solo to learn now! btw what RG is that? My affinity strat dont sound quite as good :P
Hi, thanks for the comment. My RG is a 2620. I've had a few RG's and they have all been good. I really rate Ibanez stuff for the money it costs - i have a jazz guitar and a bass, both ibanez. They are really nicely made and have good action..
check my cover too :P

This was cool and very helpful. I started a year and half ago, and this doesn't seem too bad, I just need to go and try it.

@g3legacy tbh though there is no point redoing a hole video just for that small part haha turn it into a dubbed japanese film? :P

Cool, way outta my price range im thinking of maybe a Vintage V100 as my next guitar. :D

I know what you mean, i hate it sometimes! This is my method for dropping down to D. Its sounds weird but its good.
1. tune low E to D
2. drop every other string by a half turn of the machine head
3. tune your low E down to D again.
4. Finish tuning all strings, they will be slightly out but usually very close. The key is step 2. Otherwise is takes ages...

Very good lesson dude!! I love this one too
How do your keep your floyd rose in drop D without a D tuner?
It's a nightmare for me :(
