i've fished there b4 at that same spot with my dad waiting on the bass to start schooling.....nice grass beds that drop off that island........good place to fish......but if you go on further down the lake, and go under the bridge, you will end up staying in there all day catching BIG fish with buzz bait, floating worms, and hank parker "hog callar" spinner baits! nice video!

@bassmastersyoungest I don't fish frogs a whole lot and I don't go up to Cary Branch much anymore. I have been fishing up there some lately but I rarely start up there. I do have a spot I throw topwater up towards Cary Branch in the morning but its before you get to the split.

Secondly, yes of course the fish feels the hook, anything with nerves feels pain. This is illustrated by the fact that when you set the hook the fish reacts, usually with a fight or flight response. The fact of the matter is that fish have a memory that lasts between 8 and 10 seconds. So all the bass will ever remember of this encounter is that it is still hungry. Keep fishin buddy.

First off let me say I really doubt that throwing a fish in the water hurts it...considering in the normal course of a bass's life they jump out of the water many many times. This does not mean that I condone or frown upon the practice, just stating an observation.

sorry bout the " DUMBASS " comment , somebody catchin nice bass like that at 5:30 am can't be all bad . hell wished i was there with ya . all i'm sayin is watchin that bass swim away is better than chunckin him back like a football . how would you like to be yanked out of you home with a hook in your face then thrown out of your car at 60 mile an hour . yeah doesnt sound so good to me . i like watchin my bass swim away to be caught another day .... If you notice when I show the Spook Jr., there is a piece of hydrilla hanging off the rear hook. I'm pretty sure that's why I lost the first fish on the film.
