the first time that i heard Steve Walsh's voice was in a movie, playing point of no return. I HAD to find out who it was and that was when I discovered KANSAS. That was about 20 years ago.
I've always been bothered by the clapping that comes out of nowhere at 3:44 then stops immediately. What the hell? An error while mixing out the annoying audience?
Nope, won't happen to mke. My father is getting closer to finding the cure to death. He says death is the end of everything he knows. I plan on following in his footsteps even if he doesn't live to see the completion of his lifelong dream. Not everyone will be dust in the wind; at least not I.
Such a great song, that holds the truth in a scientific view or should I say an astronermers view, but is none the less scientific and true, and we and all that we comprehend are nothing more than dust in the wind.
I just saw Elizabeth Edwards just died and I thought...Damn..all we are is dust in the wind...everything is erroded by wind..even granite mountains and of course...we eventually turn to dust as well........are all the material goods gonna stop it??........
Thank you Steve and crew. This song has always been about my little bro, Robbie, especially now that he has passed away. Thank you for giving it to him while he was still here. I love and miss you Robbie, your big sis, Bobbi.
Thank you so much for putting up the pics from the album with the song - my parents put my stuff in a box in their garage 20 years ago when I moved out and I only found the album (along with 50 other classics) in and old microwave that suffered water damage when the garage was being repaired - you know what condition the records were in. Couldn't speak to them for a year. I thought the albums were at a friend's who had emigrated, but he returned them before he left, and they were put in the box

Check out Elefante's web for his remake of this classic Kansas song. It is the only rendition that comes close in quality covers!!

Elefante sang this from '82-'84 but this version is from 1978 and that my friend is the incomparable Steve Walsh at the top of his form on vocals!

There is one word to describe my action towards this song:
Prostrate

The pic at 3:03 really expresses the mood of the song. Outdoor sheds take away much of the magic an indoor venue provides.
