also... if you wait for it to cool to room temperature and mark the glass where the bottom of the balloon is... you can label it the current room temperature... then as the temperature changes the bottom of the balloon will move up or down.. you can make additional markings to signify other temperatures.. and voila a home made thermometer...

blowing up a balloon in a GLASS bottle is very very dangerous, the pressure can get so tight that it will explode like a grenade. if the balloon keeps getting bigger and bigger, where will the air in the bottom go? seams like it will explode.
