  • Humans can't wait to get to mars.

TO FUCK IT UP LIKE EARTH!

  • there's got to be a bacteria life form there

  • One day we'll be making fuel, oxygen, etc from that ice.

  • @NOLAMarathon2010 Water no proof of carbon dioxide.marsanomalydotcom my gift to the world ! Enjoy !

  • @1:02 what are those, plants?

  • I wish I was on Mars to at the time when Curiosity MSL lands on Mars Surface.

  • Yes doughnuts and acres of cannabis. I'm saving up for a Martian greenhouse.

  • ha ha Zeke Mahogany are you hungry ? you can fly to eat but now Mars is very cold.wear on long coat .

  • Please take a look at the video called mars probes i linked in jpl Facebook, or type klogmurg in search and watch mars probe. I made the video a year ago or so, but jpl and nasa needs to look into the floating orbs i found within Google mars.

  • Is that water ice? Or is it, say, carbon dioxide ice?

amazing!! are you waiting for christmas day to post this gem?

  • Good video, annoying music.

  • go to HiRISE site there are tons of massive pictures!!!!!!

  • I'd rather have the train ride from "Total Recall".

  • @MrRudale yes, Mars' axial tilt is about 25.2 degrees while Earth's is 23.2 degrees resulting in similar (loosely) seasonal variations

  • Amazing visual treat. Looks beautiful in HD.

  • It's a MARShmallow World!

  • So beautiful!

  • It must be said that HiRISE is my favourite camera in existence. We've got views of Mars that people have been dreaming about for centuries.

  • Does Mars have a summer spring autumn and winter like we do? In other words is it tilted on its axis like earth?

  • @MrRudale Mars has seasons similar to those of the Earth, but longer. The seasons on Mars last about twice as long as those on Earth. However, the length of each season is not exactly the same since Mars has a slightly more elliptical orbit around the sun than does Earth.

  • Happy Christmas to all Earthlings and Martians!

  • Thanks for this beautiful video.

  • God, what a terrible interpretation of Jingle Bells for such nice images!

  • To think: Just a few years ago- Not that many, really- it was still speculation about Mars even having water of any kind. Now, we've found H2O in abundance on the mighty red planet, and it does actually snow! Not as dry as it seems, not at all- But still not to the scale of our little blue & green planet.

JPL's seasonal videos are true holiday treats!

    d.m.f.

  • what co2???

  • Ok so that was snow in mars. .if am not mistaken snow is frozen water and water made up two H2o doesn't that mean that mars has to have oxygen to produce water??

  • I reckon we should terraform mars.... Do a little Shake & Bake....

  • @realdealarts it does.

  • @fegolem no

  • let me just make it perfectly clear that this is no complaint, but this film literally produced tears. pretty unusual during the morning coffee routine, perfectly normal when provided with such amazing clarity, - on a planetary scale!

  • o/` mars is dead, mars is dead, mars is uber dead o/`

o/` oh what a cold and lifeless place, at least there are no humans there. ho! o/`

o/` ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, mars is uber dead o/`

o/` it gets along very fine with nothing but a microbe's fart, ho! o/`

  • I hope a cheap space travel for civilians will be available in the future :)

  • Breathtaking!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas and all the Love, good Health & Peace all over the Solar System and the Universe...There is really Peace on Mars! For all the Microbes I hope! :)

  • holly cow... wow.. TY JPL

  • CO2 snow, I expect. Yes?

  • @fegolem Both, H2O ice as well as CO2 ice.

  • Nice soundtrack to it also. The violin was exquisite.

Let's hope someday we'll be able to take an actual sleigh ride on the red planet.

  • Amazing! Keep feeding my dreams!

  • Beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us JPL!

  • I saw a Polar Bear face at :24! Why are you hiding the fact that polar bears are on Mars?! Sorry. I can't help it. Fantastic shots.

  • If it snows it's all good. Can't wait to get there. Awesome.

  • If only I was young enough to have a real shot at going to mars :( DAMN MY PARENTS! At 25 I think I'm about 10 years too old unfortunately!

  • Neato!

But actually, Mars already had its Christmas (winter solstice) on April 8 :)

  • @MarkArandjus Pagan! :D

  • Powdered doughnuts on Mars?
