Dude I got to ask you a technical question: Did that guitar have a clear coat finish? I mean I know it was probably smoothed out but was it real shiny or was it just paint like some of Ed's other guitars? By the way, congrats brother on the guitar! lol
What were the reasons that this lesson never took place and it's been over 25 years and still no lesson? Wtf? Why didnt he just sign the guitar right there and then?
Crowd separated us and Dennis Berrardi never allowed Mike to meet up with Eddie as requested by Eddie himself. The guitar was also to be signed at this little private jam.
Are you still getting the subscriptions for free? Is that Kramer one of Eddie's actual gigging guitars? You should post a (new) video of you messin around with it.We would all love to see it through a better recording. thanx
Still got the subscriptions up until last year when the company changed hands. We keep the guitar preserved and has not been played, we'll post a video of it again soon.
@dokken555 awesome guitars they made men i cant believe this guy was so lucky got a original eddie v.halen kramer e guitar wooooowwwww no fucking copy shid
ed was at almost elvis status around this time.must have been nerveracking as hell to put himself in the public like that.gotta give him credit and this kind of adoration over and over for years would make you short with people.
I entered that contest! Congrats man I hope you have it behind a glass case and never play it. I can't believe he never signed it, but I assume that was a pick he handed you. I wouldn't complain. I met James Hetfield in of all places Disney World, he was with his family eating, it was tough not wanting to run up and say hey but I didn't want to be a jerk. I did get to shake his hand in the lobby, I actually bumped into him by accident. Good on ya and GET IT SIGNED! It's almost been 25 years!
Kramer Guitars, what else needs to be said about a revolutionary guitar manufacturer that defined a generation and served as the architect of a sonic landscape that constituted and epitomized Rock music in America and inspired millions around the world and continues to capture the imaginations of Rock enthusiasts of all ages to this day.
My friend has one of the last Kramers in his possession. I'm tempted to go steal it, but I won't do that.
Much better than his appearance at NAMM 2003. Seems like Ed was more down to earth back then. I can't believe he hasn't signed the guitar. Especially considering the number of autographs he signed while sitting there.
Hey Mike, I read that Ed invited you to go on a ride in a low rider VW that Valerie bought Ed for his birthday...did you ever go? What questions did you ask Ed? Was he pretty cool? He seemed a little uncomfortable with all those people around him, I would have been too, ha!
Yup, we were to take a ride the next day after the party (His birthday and my winning the guitar) but I had to meet some magazine folks for interviews and photos. I asked Ed many questions and also asked for advice, to which have helped me in various ways. Some questions were about building guitars, about his fans etc....
Correct again; he and I, especially, were both a little uncomfortable because there was a lot of chaos with the photos and fans.
The thing I find interesting is the freaky coincidence of the name "Michael Anthony Gutierrez". Of all the people to win the guitar he had the names "Michael Anthony" and "Gutierrez" (Guitars).
i love how a guy who makes millions asks to bum some smokes and the guy just gives him the whole pack! how much were cigarettes back then,$1.25?and then when a guy askes for an autograph, wants eddie to make it out to him,ed says "i can't can i just sign my name, please"?funny!
I wonder why tour management didn't allow the guitar lesson? It wouldn't take but 10 or 15 minutes. Man he could have showed you how to play some VH songs, that would have been awesome!
Dude I got to ask you a technical question: Did that guitar have a clear coat finish? I mean I know it was probably smoothed out but was it real shiny or was it just paint like some of Ed's other guitars? By the way, congrats brother on the guitar! lol
