Firefly was a sci fi series... I love it too :) Its like a frontier life style western space show about outlaws living on a spaceship called Firefly written by the man that did Buffy. Check it out, its kinda similar in tone to cowboy bebop. Id imagine at least that Bebop fans would be more inclined to enjoy it than most people.
A long time ago I thought a Bebop film would be nice. But now I feel it's best they just leave the series alone. It's over, and it's perfect the way it is. 2. They said the first budget was about $500 million. Now, Cowboy Bebop was beautiful and would require quite a budget, but there's no way such a noir show can rack up that kind of money unless they plan on making it a retarded big-budget explosion movie.
3. I don't think The Seatbelts will do the music. Without Yoko kanno and her band, there's no Bebop in Cowboy bebop.
I hope so. Sunrise is overseeing production, but they don't care about art as much as money and getting their name out. This might not have much affect.
Watanabe, Bebop's director, is a producer, so that's definately a good sign.
The screen writer hasn' done anything, but he's also working on a drama directed by Ben Affleck. Ben sucks at acting, but he's an excellent director/writer.

@Yokito121 Miranda Cosgrove as Ed? Thats... Fail. .-. She's not dark enough, her hairs too long, her chest is too big (It is Edward we're talking about.) They do sort of sound alike though, I just couldn't picture Ms. ICarly as Rad Ed. I don't think John Cena and Spike are a good match either.

it will, and that irritates the crap out of me. PLUS, some newbie from 20th Fox is doing it. hopefully a better director with take over, but i doubt it. i may end up hurting movie theater screens in the near future lol.

The thing is that Cowboy Bebop had the best script ever, I mean big time hollywood writers can learn a lot from it. But still even best characters and scripts suffer from bad translation into live-action :/

jajaja, no i won't, because even there are good actors and directors (Woo, Robert Rodriguez) to make a good film, Fox will hire a crap director like, Uwe Boll or Paul Anderson and make a horrible production.

You know how Solid Snake fought Liquid to the tune of "Snake Eater", the quintessential Metal Gear Solid song? If we ever get a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie, then this song should be used for the last encounter between Spike and Vicious.

Its gonna suck.
1. Its starring Keanu Reeves.
2. They said the first budget was about $500 million. Now, Cowboy Bebop was beautiful and would require quite a budget, but there's no way such a noir show can rack up that kind of money unless they plan on making it a retarded big-budget explosion movie.
3. I don't think The Seatbelts will do the music. Without Yoko kanno and her band, there's no Bebop in Cowboy bebop.

I hope so. Sunrise is overseeing production, but they don't care about art as much as money and getting their name out. This might not have much affect.
Watanabe, Bebop's director, is a producer, so that's definately a good sign.
The screen writer hasn' done anything, but he's also working on a drama directed by Ben Affleck. Ben sucks at acting, but he's an excellent director/writer.
It might not be so bad, actually.
Keanu will still f*** up Spike, though. No way he can act the part.

agreed i couldnt picture keanu reeves playin spike at all he can't pull off that type of smoothness... smoothest he can get is the matrix and the movie matrix is good but the smoothness was lame lol spike is fluent and chill and very subtle but yet beasty how can reeves pull that off? IMPOSSIBLE

1. Reeves is a huge fan of the series. In fact, his passion for it is the only reason they greenlighted it. Seeing as most of his acting's problem is lack of passion, i think he'll do fine.
2. They had to cut down the budget. Therefore, your point is invalid.
3. Speculation. Not confirmed. They could just use the music from the original series. No need for new stuff.

@BalmungSama0 uh no, no studio would ever quote a budget at 500 million, you're wrong, even if the movie was to make 1 billion dollars it still wouldnt recoupe losses as the studio itself barely makes even half of a total box office gross, stop making up shit

BUT WAIT! There is hope! From interviews with Keanu Reeves it seems the Cowboy Bebop movie is currently--- Dead. And it seems it will remain so. The script got sent back because it was too expensive and since has never returned. All for the best I say.
