  • Where can i buy eggs that are not from a kit

  • @XxLostNeoxX ebay

  • i have 1 triop i had 2 but he ate that one this is day 4 of his life!

  • Can you eat them?

  • a plant is growing in my tank is that normal.

  • @G1S1W May have been a seed that came in your kit. Certainly wont hurt your Triops :)

  • Trilobites? :-P

  • my triop water turned yellow before the eggs hatched is that normal

  • @G1S1W No its not you probably should remove the triops and switch out the water.

  • @TheRealKILLshOt1337 there is no triops in it yet none hatched

  • Triops are very interesting. I had only 1 survive in the long run in my fish bowl. I dried the sand and when I poured in water I got 6 triops from that one.

I killed them by pouring a little more water In D:

Now I have a full sized fish tank and another kit to try again with.

  • Very interesting

  • @felixjazzage AHA! i see what you did there. the good the bad and the ugly reference ftw.

  • Can I feed triops with just a lot of infusoria or do I need bigger food for them??

  • ive got to get me some of those marvelous creatures,

  • Do you get more Triops when they lay eggs, or do you have to keep buying them...?

  • @Derry266 You can use the eggs they lay, but you have to let them dry for like 2 weeks and then put them in water so they'll hatch.

  • @SZJerkXVI cheers man going to get some soon, thanks.

  • Thank you for the information, and great epic song.

  • there cannibals i had mine and they ate each other until i only had one lol

  • There are only two kinds of triops in the world, my friend.

Those with a cool Ennio Morricone soundtrack.

    Those without.

  • do you eat them......

  • Can I put them in the same container I used to keep my seamonkeys in? Or do they need a big tank like yours?

  • @777Skeptic they eat seamonkeys, so no

  • @MrWimz I mean, could I keep them in my seamonkey tank, but without the seamonkeys? I'm just wondering if the seamonkey tank would be enough space for triops.

  • @777Skeptic i don't think that would be enough space if you have the standard seamonkey tank

  • What?! I like to lay eggs too! me and triops sure have a lot in common!

  • They are only rare in the wild

  • Who told you Triops were rare? you can get then every couple of months off the back of a schoolastic magazine. i got some when i was 12, but accedentally killed them 3 days after they hatched.

  • @KeswickCamp08 oops read that wrong.

  • @KeswickCamp08 I just got some right now off of my schoolastic order sheet. My moms a teacher, but i havent grown em yet,

  • @rippedpixel be careful, & read the directions to take care of them..i had mine for 3 days before i accedentally killed them all!

  • Love this vid, cant remember the number of times i have watched this. One day i will try and raise some myself. Do you still keep them?

  • they live for 1-2 months but they are waaaay bigger than sea monkeys XD

  • i'm thinking about becoming a triops breeder irl and im not kidding if u think i am then ur stupid

  • were can u get them

  • pet lover center! i jux bought it hee hee

  • were do they sell these

  • @Bigdominican76 sometimes they sell them at hobby lobby

  • @JAZMiNENiCOLE8 they're reallly really really cool. i have them at home and they used to look like aliens to me but now they looks so pretty :)

  • if i put triops in my fish tank will they eat my fish

  • @dinosaurman1000 if they are small, they might get eaten by the fish. if they are larger than the fish, they might eat the fish. a word of advice, do not put them together.

  • whats eat triops?

  • i had some triops once, when 1 died the others ate it... :( they were creeps to do tht

  • Great Video

  • i like seamonkeys better because they dont creep me out like triops do

  • Are they edible?

  • got myself one of these, its day 3 right now, its the tinyest animal I have ever seen!

  • they look pretty cool! i might go get some from hobby lobby.

  • If I were to buy a kit and the triops reached adulthood what are the chances that they would breed ???

  • @4everdemented Very high. I hatched one triops from a commercial package, and she lived for two months. I dried the sand and now there is at least a dozen offspring swimming around.

  • @Wikutin That's great news then ! I bought a kit on Ebay last night and was sort of disappointed to find out how short their life-span is . But if they're likely to have a dozen or so offspring then it was definitely worth the $1o .

  • i like this clip and the way you made it with explanation reports and basic information about the species.

  • there a awesome little critters, shame they only have a short life spam. Can you buy them in a pet store, I know its not the right term or would I have to buy the little kit.

  • We started the experience with my 10 yo son. Only one survived: I think we didn't separate them (or feed them) in time, so the biggest 'nicely' ate his little friends. Oops!

Still we take great care of him and are 'proud' of this little success for a first try. My son even gave him a name: Kiki. He's now 2 weeks old so I think it's time to put some sand in the aquarium. He's funny and awesome to watch!

To think they live no more than 2 months and still exist since 200 million y is incredible!

  • you idiots the world is only 4000 years old. 200 million years old is the skid marks in your drawers

  • @paulc43 fail troll is fail

  • @rndmnrd yes indeed... he thinks he knows everything

  • If my Triops lay eggs and they hatch will the adults eat the youngsters :S?

  • @AKLd95 It's very unlikely, albeit possible that the eggs will hatch without a dry period. But if they do, the triops may eat them. They're more cannibalistic towards sick or dying triops and if they haven't gotten enough food.

  • @AkLd95

Actually, they should be able to that, there is no reason why the shouldnt. Maybe the seller just.. wants you to buy more once they die..? O.o

  • I bought some dried triops eggs today! But there is a catch -___- The seller told me that the wont be able to reproduce, can explain me this reason please? Btw that is some damn sexy triops u have there ! <3 :D

  • @AKLd95 Your triops salesman is lying to you; he wants you to buy more eggs. Unless they're male (which are very rare) they're able to reproduce. Between a week and two weeks they should be able to reproduce... Alone if necessarily.

  • sorry i posted 2 times

  • help my triops wont hatch i bought the triops deluxe kit from triops.com

i used distilled water and the temp was 25'C i even dryed it out and tried again but it still

didnt hatch plz someone help and if u know a place where i can buy eggs cheap

without the shipping not over $10 to canada or an good ebay seller that sells triops

    longicaudatus plz tell and thx

  • @jameswildones Try with spring water. 22°C is optimal for hatching. Triops Longicaudatus have a low hatching rate and the fact that they're being sold in packages of 20 eggs or so isn't really helping the matter.

  • i am hati\ching triops and once they are little swimming specs do i feed them right away or how do i know when to feed them the pellets

  • @crosmandudelol Do you have that teabag thing inside the aquarium or whatever they're swimming in? That's usually enough. They don't get much than that in the wild either... Which I suppose is why they're cannibals. When they're specs their small mouths aren't able to eat anything but algae, bacteria and other invisible things. I didn't feed mine before they could swing properly, and even so I crushed the pellets. It's much easier to overfeed the triops than starve them.

  • @Wikutin k thanks, it had been more than 48 hours and my little guys arent hatching!!

  • @crosmandudelol How big is your tank? They won't hatch if there are more than half a gallon (two litres) water. Some instructions say there shouldn't be more than half of that. Personally my Longicaudatus hatched in one litre (0.25 gallon). Well, one of them did. Did you use spring water? It's usually the best. Anyhow, be patient. My first triops took four days before hatching and I have read it can take two weeks. The small specs are also nich impossible to see.

  • @Wikutinok my trops alredy hacthed and every thing thank you for the advice he is now the size = = but there is one problem the algea tied his tail togther and now it can swim i tired helping with a toothpick by pullin it apart it worked but it tore a little piece of my fishes tail, will the fish die? or will it recover i saw like 1 drop of blood coming out. please help me

  • @crosmandudelol Only time will tell. If he survives the next molding, it'll be alright. BTW, get rid of the algae. I found out triops actually don't eat any visible algae, instead it deprives them of oxygen. Sea monkeys eat algae, but the problem is triops eat sea monkeys and sea monkeys eat smaller triops and their eggs. Sorry about that misinformation, I'm still new at this as well. Let's hope it all turns out good. Triops are carnivorous so you'd think they can heal quite well.

  • @crosmandudelol Only time will tell. If she survives the next molding, it'll be alright. By the way, remove any visible algae. Triops eat microscopic algae but in tanks it quickly overgrows. Rule of thumb is, if you can see the green algae, remove it.

  • 1. what r the better T cancriformis, T longicaudatus or T australiensis

    2. how do u get so much triops to hatch

    3. where did u buy yours

    4. why didnt mine triops kit hatch even though i followed the orders and used distilled water

    5. what tempature is your tank

    6. what size tank did u get and how much triops can u put in it

sorry if this were too long

    and plz help me

  • @jameswildones This wasn't directed at me, but I'm going to answer anyway... 1. Depends on your room temperature. Canciformis is for colder climates, 10-28°C. (50-85F). Longi. (18-30C/60-86F) and same for Australiensis. I have read Australiensis are harder to breed and canciformis the easiest. Longi are cheaper and more readily available...

    2. With plenty of eggs. Eggs are however sold in minimal amounts so usually you get more triops after your first ones have laid their eggs.

  • They Look a lot Cooler Than sea monkeys....& they are only a little bit more expensive

  • Mine never hatched.

  • once i got a triop kit and a fairy shrimp hatched

  • add 1tsp of viagra....

  • cool,i recently found a kit to grow Triops i got when i was a kid,im going to grow them soon thanks for the video

  • i got a nice small water pump for mine

  • I totally believe these are eaten by humans. Since they are known to turn up in puddles during he summer rains around the world I am sure tribe people gobble them right up as a quick snack or a meal.

  • "The triops like to swim, eat, and lay eggs" LOL. That sounds like describing their civilised social interests who happen to be quite basic.

  • Google Triops Germany ;)

  • those things look like alien lobsters to me

  • HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR TRIPS SO HEALTHY?

  • úžasná zviřátka ... toto video mi pomohlo se odhodlat ))

nice creatures ... this vid make me determination

  • triops creep me out for some reason.... :(

they look like aliens to me

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG???

  • i thought they were all he-shes..

  • godlike? they look like puddle parasites to me...

  • so they mate and the babies take the place of the dead adults in your tank?

  • do u need sand or dirt if their prelayed eggs like from a kit if you do can it be any dirt or sand?

  • @Tayjar88 You also need rocks so that they can successfully shed their shells.

  • Wow, for something that's been around for 200 million years. They don't live for very long. Well, they must be doing something right if they've been around for that long. Amazing.

  • do i need to give them sand or something on the bottom

  • @Tayjar88 yes you do have to put sand or dirt at the bottom of the tank because thats how females lay their eggs no sand or dirt will result in no eggs... females will only lay eggs when they can hide them from other triops... hope this helps!

  • 17 sea monkeys are owned = P

  • i have them too they havnt hatched yet :(

  • lol i have some too they havnt hatched yet. :( but im still waiting

  • I didn´t know i could add plants and sand... I was soooo scared that if I did they would die -.-

  • i love this video i have 1 triop at the moment it is 1 week old and has sheded 2 times is that good?

  • One of my triops lasted for almost 3 months once on its own, I am planing to get a new tank to start breeding them againg I can't wait :-)

  • :(

I bought the Triops Pack for $20.00 in my school's scholastic and i did everything but they didnt hatch.... Luckily my friend Leon has like 20 triops so i can go over and check 'em out! but still :(

  • @Xxjaguar123xX aww, to bad :(

But don`t lose hope =D try again, and again.

    But learn from me here:

feed them triops food, nothing else, dont let algea and bacteria grow, and give them enough light. You will do fine next time :)

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Cool

  • Ccccccooooollll

  • I want some so bad now :( You can't even tell they're in water in this video. They just look like little land animals running around a prehistoric forest. I WANT SOME!

  • Wow, *I* love to swim, eat and lay eggs, too!

  • I bought my Triops eggs from Newport, OR

  • these are facts i dount know about plus u can get a pet tryops

  • Hello, may i ask you please for more information? im thinking to start breed triops. im thinking of to buy some eggs, but is it easy to breed them? and how to dry eggs? please can you answer me on email : zdenisvobodova@seznam.cz . Thank you very much.

  • 16 people are goldfish

  • How did they get so big? Mine always turn out tiny?

  • Do the eggs they lay hatch? Or do they need to be fertilized?

  • @agouti6 Firstly, yes the eggs hatch, but only if they've been dried out for about a week. They dont need to be fertilized as most triops are both male and female, while a very small percent is just male (like one in this video)

There is no such thing as a 100% female triops

  • how many eggs?

  • @Asken96 about 10 a day from females, but most dont survive

  • wht do u do with the triops when they die? do u just take them out and throw them away or triops can be canibalistic??

  • @MrHestolemyname well, it depends if there are any left in the tank. If there are many in the tank, the body will be gone before you knew it died. If it was the last one in the tank, take it out and let all the water evaporate, so you can hatch the eggs in the sand.

  • @Pieishman so they basically are canabalistic when one of them dies?

  • @MrHestolemyname yeah, or if their starving and see a much smaller one

  • awwwwwwwww the fishies think they're people :D

  • 15 people tried to think of a whitty crappy 1-liner in a vain attempt to get thumbs up

  • 15 cowboys were eaten by triops

  • ha ha good vidio

  • 15 Peoples parents were eaten by a triops

  • 13 people didn't want to pay a few dollars more.

  • they arent living fossils they are a freshwater shrimp that live in the deserts and sometimes ponds in america

  • @chezeonator

They are in that their morphology hasn't changed for 70 million years Genius.

  • gotta love 'em..i'm gonna get my bash too :)

  • loser what kind of vido is this?

  • @kittycatgomeow13

    You're mom.

  • hmm dude if you see this i got kinda question how do you make en hatch?

ive tried 5 times now and theres not happening anything at all?

and now ive tried again and theres been 4 days and now theres something down there alive. But its kinda walking around on top of the water and almost jumping around could it be one??

  • I used to have these when I was little...and I can't remember, do they bite?

  • @Chuthuluku You don't touch them, so no.

  • Awww, soooooooo cuuuuuute!

  • dont make love to one

  • @Tzilla18

  • @Tzilla18 CRAAAAB PEOPLE! XD

  • Omg. That music is absolutely perfect for this video.

  • I have a 10 gallon and was to put triops and sand for bottom would I need a pump or anything I don't have a light yet ether

  • Awesome facts! Thanks for uploading.

  • I thought Triops were hermaphrodites?

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang Most are usually, but sometimes you'll get males or females. Even the hermaphrodites are leaning towards the female classification.

  • its cool because its rare to have a male triop even more rare to get an albino i had both believe it or not it died and i froze it

  • This video makes me want to buy a barrel full of triops.

  • @mariesadler same :( thats why tommoro i am going to buy a triops of amazon :3

  • so one genaration live for 1-2months?

  • My triops are 3 days old to th second. I love my triops:-)

  • what they eats?

  • I had 4 that hatched from 1/2 of the amount of eggs that came with the kit. Its been about 3 weeks now and 3 have died after changing water, eventhough I did everything that the instruction said. Oh well... But the remainig one is pretty healthy I guess and has survived another water change and constantly produces eggs. They are pretty much the only pets Im not allergic to, so i gotta love em
