  • dude, are those chrome cobras, those are badass

  • Joe - Clearly you are a great drummer. Really want to know if money is not a factor, which kit you'd buy. Roland or Hart. Any issues with Hart? Thinking of pulling trigger now. I have a td-20sx module and a "frankenstein" piecemeal kit. Thoughts?

  • @Voxtender Roland and Hart are both great products. Check out Diamond Electronic drums. I have a few videos up playing them. They look like acoustic and play like roland and Hart. Very good quality can't say enough good things about Dave Chetwynd the owner of the company. I enjoy playing a 14" snare again. They trigger very nice. Hope this helps.

  • Nice!

  • Hi Joe... nice drum solo. What kit is that you are playing on your TD-20 for the first part of your solo? I have a Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 kit, and just upgraded to the TD-20 in the past year. I like the sound of that first kit you play for your solo.

  • @joe556677 That is a kit I made from their samples. The kick is #9 Mahogany the toms are Birch and the snare is the Round badge #71. That is what is so great about the TD-20 you have so many sounds to choose from to make up your own kit to your taste. Hope this helps

  • Thanks Joe. Can I ask what audio interface and recording software you are using? You recording sounds great. I currently connect the master outs on my TD-20 to Pro Tools 8 through an Mbox 2 Mini. I'm not happy with the results of this setup, and am looking at purchasing a new audio interface to I can record 8 direct outs from my TD-20 to separate tracks in Pro Tools. (I'm considering the MOTU 828mk3.)

  • @joe556677 I went straight out of the TD-20 into a Kodak Zi8 video recorder. I used a "Y" cable out of the mains so It would be in stereo. I changed the sounds up a bit for the other video I have up for Diamond drums and in that one I went through a fostex recorder before it went into the Zi8. You can do a lot of tweaking in the TD-20 module. Hope this helps.

  • wow, great drumming...i hope to be as good as you someday

  • teach me

  • Great module, good drumming and awesome drum set, but if i were you I'd buy good headphones too to get the best out of you TD20 module!

  • Love it

  • Hey, Joe. Great riffs! Two questions for you. I am on old school drummer of 30 plus years, having used only acoustic drums in the past. I am thinking of purchasing an electronic set and I really like the Hart Dynamics sets. I know little to nothing about them. In your opinion, do you feel they are among the best out there, and what module would you recommend? Is a module more important than the set itself? Thanks, Bro!

  • @VinBad007 In my opinion Hart dynamics are one of the best out there. There pads are very reliable and very dynamic. I do have a new kit coming for the live gigs. Ive ordered a set of Diamond Electronic Drums and should be getting them in a few weeks.Dave makes electronic custom drums any size and any color. The audience will not know they are electronic. Ive heard nothing but high praises for Daves work at Diamond Electric. Check back in a few weeks and I will let you know how they are.

  • @StLouisJoe1 Thanks for the timely response, Joe. I appreciate it. I will certainly check back to see if you have any new uploads. Thanks again! Vinny.

  • @VinBad007 In my opinion the module is the most important item in an electronic set . With a good module you can make a set of rubber pads sound great.. One question. What are you useing the electronic kit for ? Studio, Practice, Live gigs? The Roland TD-20X is one of the best out there in my opinion. The TD-12 will also work depending on your needs and is about $1,000.00 cheaper. There are some computer based programs out there as well. Go to V-drums.com and visit the forum. lots of debates.

  • @StLouisJoe1 Thanks, Joe. I guess I just need a Module that will give me a nice, authentic acousitc sound. So, yes, I am looking at either the DT-20, or the DT-12. I don't need too many bells and whistles. But of course I say that now, right? : ) I just want to be sure not to "buy short." I am amazed at how far the sound and technology of these electronic drums have come over the year. It's mind blowing. I really have my eye on the Hart 20th Anniversary Set. Thanks again! Vinny

  • I've never seen anyone with that much control and speed for a drummer that sticks his pinkies out.... incredible. I do the same thing, but I'm nowhere close to your level. props

  • if I was to get this kit, personally, I'd get some FIELD electronic cymbals and put them on the kit in substitution of the cymbals they come with, just some monster response.

  • Nice .. The Hart Dynamics kit looks good as well as having good .. err ..dynamics

  • Loved it.

  • Those are Hart Dynamics E II cymbals. The ride, china and hi-hats are metal that comes with a rubber pad glued on them. If they are just used for live playing I will take the rubber pads off. The other cymbals are plastic. You do get somewhat of a Whack out of the plastic ones but not bad.

  • May sound like a dumb question but those aren't reall cymbals right? do they make any acoustic noise or are they pretty quiet, just wondering :)

  • Thanks . Its just a Boss FS-6 pedal

  • real nice man, remids me of neil peart. only one question though. How exactly do you and neil peart manage to change kits on your v-drum modules by just thinking about it (1:47)
