I believe its better to have the kit with you,and not need it,rather than leave the kit at home and then find out you do need it.You might want a whistle, stock cubes, protein bars, compass, just a few ideas.Good vid
Nice video man. That's a whole lot of backpack for just a day hike. At a minimum that's an overnighter. I own the same pack (among others) and I love it. Keep on keepin on.
@rowdybeaver33 I agree. When I go to remote areas I always bring enough to spend an unexpected night out if I have to. It has happened to me before, and I was very glad that I was prepared.
@spsmith1965 I agree. I always have the gear necassary to keep me alive for a night. I wasn't speaking about the contents of the pack. I was talking about the pack itself.
A buddy is a "survivalist"; everyone else is an "idiot". In the right crisis he might bring down an enemy army or become a warlord, but he'll die if all that happens is the stores shut down... he's only preparing for dramatic catastrophes.
I'm making an emergency jump-kit, so I've read a lot and watched many videos. You say "I don't expect to need this today, I brought it just in case" - the very mindset I'm aiming for. 5 minutes of your video = more useful than 5 years of my buddy's rants.
@GeorgiaVirtualGuides Hey look, it's Brent the picture pusher guy! You better not quit your day job because your pictures look about as good as Bigfoots dental work. Did I mention I hunt Bigfoot. Now that's a picture worth looking at. I'm your shadow, Brent HAHAHAHAAAA!! You better burn that "How to Promote Yourself On The Internet" book, b/c it just ain't working for ya.
