  • 1975 my father started taking to construction sites...Don Rose always made it fun. We would repeat his goofy jokes much of the day. Being a kid it was difficult to get up at 6 am, but The DR. made it all worth while. He is the best that's ever been.

  • Gosh he was the best!!! He surely is missed!

  • @lance1283 I remember when Dr.Don Rose Died Oldies Big 610 went to Harold Camping.

  • Dude was the man.

  • KFRC 610 was the only sound for me growing up in the Bay Area! The songs with the DJs.....Dr. Donald D Rose was a fixture for me during high school (72-76)....so fantastic! "THAT'S RIGHT!"

  • Thanks 10TVMan !!! : )..

  • this is the end of an era ....A great era ...Long Live Dr Don!!!

  • Where's Pt 2??

  • I grew up with Dr. Don What a great personality! Never will he be replaced. It reminds me of home! RIP Dr. Don

  • I lived in the bay area in 1976-78 and loved listening to Dr. Don Rose myself. He was the most entertaining voice omn the radio back then. I live at the time in San Jose and worked at KBAY-Fm. I am originaly from Texas, Tyler, Texas. I sure do miss litening to DDR. He was a great talent on the radio and a loss for the bay area.

  • @rontyler1955 Wow 25 years later DJ can't do the things that Dr. Don Rose did and it beats the 99.7 KFRC era of the 1990's and 106.9 KFRC era.

  • Living in Southern Californa--straining to hear the BIG 610: KFRC- I heard the

zaniest; corniest; laugh-out-loud disc jockey in the West.

Today, DJ's either wanna be hip-hop cool; or are "ham-strung" by management.

Did you notice on the video how D.D.R. scripted everything. [Yet, he made it

    sound so "off-the-cuff,"; stream-of-consciousness, etc.].

Los Angeles radio was home to a myriad of marvelous on-air personalities,

(but nobody compares to Dr. Don).

Thanks for all the fun DDR

  • I grew up listeneing to KFRC (even though i live in michigan now),I am a SF native and through the 60s listened to the FRC first hand.remember the staion first had Sly Stone (a dj at the time) play his very first number one record.Sly and the family stone aired "Higher" on this station.. and Don Pushed the song to number 1.

  • What a big drop. From the fabulous Dr. to the bottom of the abyss with vulgar, filthy Imus and Stern.

  • What memories! Thank you for sharing.

    RIP Dr. Don.

  • You were an important memory in my childhood. The snorting just sends me back!!

  • DR DON WAS ALWAYS A CLASS ACT. HE STARTED MY MORNINGS OFF AS I WENT TO SCHOOL. HE PROVIDED A QUICK FIX WITH HIS DIAL-A-JOKE. IT'S ONE THING TO APPRECIATE HIS TALENT AS AN ADULT, BUT AS A TEENAGER IN THE 70s, EVEN I KNEW HE WAS SPECIAL. HE WAS AS MUCH SAN FRANCISCO AS A BURRITO FROM EL FARO, OR BBQ PORK BUNS FROM JACKSON & GRANT(PACIFIC NOODLE CO).GOOD MORNING!!!

  • Hey, Cuz! Looking good rocking the board! mz

  • I was making a "Songs in the Key of My Life" for my iPod, and I had to google Dr. Don Rose. Geez, I was a military brat living on the Presidio, going to Marina Jr. High in 7th grade. Dr. Don, is the only DJ I can remember growing up. I miss the Bay Area so much, and San Francisco is the Greatest City in my world.

  • I remember the day dr don locked the door and played his favorite songs as the dream was dying, not a good memory.

  • OMG I haven't heard him since I used to listen to him when I lived in Walnut Creek in the 80s!! OMG I miss the bay area!

  • Great memories, one of the best and look or is that hear? No swearing & no porn just solid get up and go morning radio.

Plus ratings only some jocks dream about!

  • Wow really miss these days on the radio. Great memories! Long live Dr. Don!
