I don't understand why it was left up to Luke and the gang to rescue Han. After all Han did for the Rebellion (helped destroy the Death Star, saved Luke and Leia countless times, etc.) couldn't the Alliance send in a squad of troops to get him? Or, better yet, just buy Han back from Jabba? The Rebellion obviously has plenty of cash.
