Missing $4,155? It Went Into Your Gas Tank This Year
cnbc.com 12.19.2011 AP - by Skeez
It's been 30 years since gasoline took such a big bite out of the family budget…the typical American household will have spent $4,155 filling up this year, a record. That is 8.4 percent of what the median family takes in… Hi Gas Cost is hurting the poor families the most!
It's funny to hear a black woman defend Obama, they'll make the most ridiculous excuses since "day be all up in his grille, da man can be do no wrong!"
Stop demanding Ron Paul people, he is only non- Republican on foreign policy. For the rest he demands almost the same thing. Health care? He forgets about insurance companies that would kill your country. Education? no different from the most of the Republican heads. Marriage? According to him government should be out if it and that it is only for the church. What about those who are atheists? They want to get married as well...
Your completely taking his comment out of context. He never said that only the church would control marriage. He simply meant that marriage and other religious issues are between you and your "god". If you don't have a god, then marriage is treated like a contract between two people.
@Helm28469 But who is there to enforce the contract? Who are there to uphold one to ones word? Do you really think in a society without government, people would be able to do that?
Are we talking about 2 different Ron Pauls? Ron Paul has never said that that we should get rid of the whole government. He has stated repeatedly that one of the governments main roles is to enforce contracts and prevent and punish fraud.
Liberals ARE CONSISTENT - they HATE right wing policies/leaders - that applies to BUSH and THE RIGHT WING OBAMA! How stupid do you have to be to be republican if you can't understand this - BTW wasn't it the RIGHT that were OBSESSED with 'flip flopping' thing...
"Ron Paul wants to get rid of anything that inhibits corporations"
Actually none of those things has made any statistical difference; the real progress on these issues has been made in COURTS.
As for min. wage laws, the MARKET determines a worker's value; so if it's less than the min. wage then they just go jobless. You can't legislate prosperity!

@gulbirk It isn't by European scales but in a strictly American scale they are the left party.
In other news: The republicans are going to speed up USA's downfall SIGNIFICANTLY if they seize power - never before has there been such a massive indoctrination of such a major part of a modern country's population as the one around the republican party - they will run this country in the ground with their corporately decided politics - and their ignorant followers will regret it, mark my words
@gulbirk And in a way, its weird that caring for the environment is considered a left movement. It shouldnt be scaled to that. We all live on this planet after all...
@toverkleet Yeah, everyone should get it. But it isnt that caring about the enviroment is a left wing thing. Its just that right winged parties generally disagree with any restrictions on private businesses. And they always disagree with government telling private owners how to set up and run their business.
@gulbirk No, the "right wing" just things you should have to prove something is harmful before you restrict it. Carbon Monoxide. Bad. Should be taxed to reduce. Carbon Dioxide? Um no. And of course gov should not be able to tell someone how to set up and run a business. If you have ever worked for the gov you would know that they don't even know what they are doing.
@gulbirk Where to begin? Lets start with the study science comment. Obviously this implies that if I don't believe in man made global warming I don't know science. Two months ago Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics, Dr. Ivar Giaever, resigned from the American Physics Society due to their stance that global warming (or climate change depending on the week) is man made. Is that because he doesn't have your deep understanding of Science?
@gulbirk Maybe you should go back and study the basics of science. Namely that science begins with questioning things and not buying what you are told for fear that if you don't you will be seen as "anti-science". In that regard most of the biggest scientific discoveries have been made by men, who by your measure, would have been "anti-science" and in desperate need of schooling. How is it that the temp of the earth has risen in the past without increased CO2?
@gulbirk How is it that man made CO2 output has risen by over one third in the last decade and yet tempature has remained almost stagnant? Why is it that, though ice core data, we know that CO2 levels have trailed temps by centuries in the past? And there is no lab on earth that completely simulates the earths atmosphere, so studies showing CO2 is the main driver of temp would be crude at best. Why is it hard to believe an infant science might have flaws?
@mixmastermeeks First of all, I would recomend watching Potholers videos on the explanation of why temperature has been higher in the past even though Co2 levels were lower. THe pattern you will see is that OTHER THINGS EFFECT THE TEMPERATURE TOO, which no one in their right mind believe. CO2 is just one of the things. The temperature the last 100 years have increased nearly a degree.
@gulbirk I have watched Potholers videos and have actually messaged back and forth with Potholer. According to Dr. Giaever the fact that the earth has warmed only one degree just goes to show that the climate has been extremely stable and that people in general in the last 100 years have become healthier and happier. And my exact point was that other things effect the climate. CO2 probably has some effect. But it is no where close to the doomsday prophecies that are made.
@gulbirk My overall point to your first post was that it is childish (and anti-science) to tell someone to go to school and study science because they question things. @gulbirk The earth is 4.5 billion years old. It would be ridiculous to even think that we would know if this is one of the fastest warmings in history. And what, pray tell, caused it to warm before human carbon output? What caused it to cool? It is equally ridiculous to come to the conclusion that because it has warmed a degree in the last century it will do the same for the next 10 centuries. Especially if you think the cause is co2 which makes up less than 1% of greenhouse gasses.
@mixmastermeeks Its not ridiculous if you knew how CO2 actually worked. Yes, previous times in history other things have made it heat up. Is it hard for you guys to understand that there are more then one factor that can contribute to the warming? Because thats how scientists have reached this conclusion. You said you had watched the relevant Potholer videos, but I hardly doubt it. He goes through many of the other hypothesis of why its warming, and debunks them.
@gulbirk "Is it hard for 'you guys' to understand that there are more than one factor that con contribute to the warming?" Are you kidding? That is my whole point. 4.5 billion years. Our climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years. For only 150 out of 4.5 billion years has man made carbon been possible. Never before in the history of the earth has CO2 driven climate change. But now it is what controls climate change?
@gulbirk And Potholer's videos aren't exactly peer reviewed now are they? One example is his one that addresses the CERN results. Although I agree that the CERN atmosphere chamber experiment did not by any means "settle the science". The regulations that FDR put in, worked wonders for the economy, it was't until reagan when you saw massive shifts in wealth. these are called facts. Get familiar with them, then you wont sound so fuckin stupid.
@MrY0ufail a tea party insider is reading your comment and laughing his ass off. They got the whole country hooked on this debt reduction when we have a much more urgent need for investment in job creation and, yes, economic stimulation. Shouldn't we stop the bleeding before treating other ailments? why do we ignore the consensus of most economists? why do we ignore history and what it has to teach us? Truly perilous time in America. Never have I been so pessimistic.
@doublew84 Ron Paul planted that tea-party grassroots that the neocons hijacked. So you can laugh all you want, but realize you are laughing from the wrong side of the truth.
@MrY0ufail humans are not living on thier own island or to put it more direct ron pauls idealism and ideology cant ever exist, perhaps with a different animal but not the human kind.
@MrY0ufail But also the end of Department of Commerce. Energy. Education. etc. Social Security. Medicare. Income tax. FBI. CIA. You need to think about this. the Energy department takes care of the nukes. dep. of education helps specially needed kids to go to school, because it gets federal funding. It also helps kids with student loans. Commerce is helping to build infrastructure. And also Ron Paul is in on the Idea for the abolishment of the EPA.
I hate to say it, but the Constitution can't be restored by voting for candidates-- only by the people of states NULLIFYING federal laws in their respective states through direct vote.
That's how the Founders intended, and that's how it has to be done-- but that requires REJECTING the lies that the fed tells us about American history, in suppression of the truth.
I love when people always try to desperately find at least ONE difference between their actions and those of others to justify their hypocrisy. Sorry Bill, but you fail this time. Obama might be getting hammered a lot more than Bush, but you of all people can't complain about it.
