ok i have to point something out. The guy said obama is/will/did propose a budget that will increase the national debt by about $7 billion over ten years. My question to that is budgets are done annually. How will it cost $7 billion over ten years if the budget will only be for this year. Why is it that, though ice core data, we know that CO2 levels have trailed temps by centuries in the past? And there is no lab on earth that completely simulates the earths atmosphere, so studies showing CO2 is the main driver of temp would be crude at best. Why is it hard to believe an infant science might have flaws?

@mixmastermeeks First of all, I would recomend watching Potholers videos on the explanation of why temperature has been higher in the past even though Co2 levels were lower. THe pattern you will see is that OTHER THINGS EFFECT THE TEMPERATURE TOO, which no one in their right mind believe. CO2 is just one of the things. The temperature the last 100 years have increased nearly a degree.

According to Dr. Giaever the fact that the earth has warmed only one degree just goes to show that the climate has been extremely stable and that people in general in the last 100 years have become healthier and happier. And my exact point was that other things effect the climate. CO2 probably has some effect. But it is no where close to the doomsday prophecies that are made.

Especially when they are so clearly unclear as man made global warming. My Geology professor told us that gravity is a theory. Half an hour later she told us that global warming was certain. And what, pray tell, caused it to warm before human carbon output? What caused it to cool? It is equally ridiculous to come to the conclusion that because it has warmed a degree in the last century it will do the same for the next 10 centuries. Especially if you think the cause is co2 which makes up less than 1% of greenhouse gasses.

Although I agree that the CERN atmosphere chamber experiment did not by any means "settle the science". But in his video he uses a nifty picture to show how even if the sun has an effect on clouds that more clouds can acually warm the earth. Now that is news and has never been true before. More clouds equal cooler temps. But people see a video and just believe it.
