lol he got that wrong.

not everything is picked up by the sensor bar. the sensor bar only beams 8 infrared lights, which teh Wiimote then detects movment. the sensor bar is only used for pointing too. There is an aceleratormeter inside the wiimote to calucate the x,y, and z angle/position of the wiimote. This AND the infrared light pointing is sent to the console by bluetooth (yes wii and wiimotes use bluetooth)

Yes this is also why the wiimote can be picked up(and used) by your computer using a blue tooth and some mods.
