  • Whoopi pretty hot here

  • Please See Our Unplugged version of this amazing song!

    /watch?v=T3Uepap5Pao

  • soul

  • Nobody will ever sing it as well as Ruffin. That being said, he is a pretty damn close second. They almost sound alike.

  • fuckin hell, how come 3 idiots dislike that?

  • You cant compare to david ruffin he was the only one ollie was good to but you surely cant compare the original 5 to anybody else

  • Ollie woodson, hands down over David Ruffin. David unfortunately never appreciated his talent or God given gift. The unselfish attitude of Ollie is what puts him over the top.

  • @keilworth3

Okay, so what gives. Ollie is your uncle or grandfather, right?

  • @tonywsmith2 dont hate

  • It's uncalled for to compare to greats. David Ruffin was great but brief, Ollie Woodson really gave his all....no ego. And boy, Ollie can sing. Both are great.

  • ali ollie woodson was next to Ruffin, but david was unbelievable !!

  • Now this is real talent. No autotune, no nothing. Just clean, pure, soul, and true talent!

  • i miss ruffin

  • Woopi Goldberg muito simpatica.

  • i think your video is great! i think it's so great that people like you who post these videos so that an old lady like me {63} with cancer can hear the great soul groups and singers from back in my day. i certainly don't mind if it's out of syc{although it isn't}, and i soso appreciate you posting this. i don't have a clue how to post so i am really grateful to you { and other posters} for letting me hear the great older soul music! it really helps me. thanks again!

  • Similar to Ruffin.....No.

  • i also happen to think his voice is better than ruffins.... ruffin could go higher....ali has the raspiness in his voice.... fits the band better

  • its finally in synch

  • LMFAOOOO !

    Whoopie Had A Ceile Moment @ 0:55

Reminds Me Of Tha Color Purple When Ceile Waz Tryin On Shuq's Clothes && Smilinq In Tha Mirror

  • Oh quel voix Ali !!

  • who the fuck is this dick

  • magic .. motown magic .. i dont care who sings it as long as it remains the same ....... "ITS THE SAME OLD SONG" ;))

  • WOW! How many of these here are the originals? Only Otis is left now. :-(

  • For everyone that said Ali is better than ruffin search this on youtube "David Ruffin - MY GIRL (Live 1972)"- it's a solo show eddie was doin at a club and he called david up on the stage even paul was on stage singing backup. Only audio no video but David simply makes this performance by ali look less than average so type David Ruffin - MY GIRL (Live 1972) in the search box and everything else is history

  • This is tight, just wonderful.

  • HAHA, look Woopi_Goldberg, she is so in it

  • Ollie, for me was the GREATEST lead they ever had. So sad he's left this world...

  • WOOPI IS ONE UGLY LADY..ANYWHO THAT MAN CAN SING...

  • WOW Al kills it...I love this

  • in otis mother voice awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww dont they look good yall lol truly missed yall

  • lol best is in the end "oh i feel much better!"

and then the other dude "she will..." xD

  • I love the raspyness of his voice. It's one thing about David i just loved. There's only one David Ruffin...true. But he filled his shoes.

  • F..... this is damn good !!! Thank u god !!

  • Who cares its out of synch, we all know the words, we all know the class, style, and harmony, sing along and watch true talent at its best! Thanks for posting and R.I.P Ollie! Wonderful voice!

  • Ollie was the best. RIP Ollie

  • Ali-Ollie Woodson, que liderou o quinteto The Temptations nos anos de 1980 e 90, da lendária gravadora Motown, e ajudou a recuperar a banda com canções como "Treat her like a lady", morreu no domingo (30/05/10). Ele tinha 58 anos.

  • RIp Mr. Ollie Woodson

  • RIP Ollie Woodson 5-30-10

  • Ruffin could whoop his ass

  • Awesome Just Seen It Sung By "John Barry" On Britians Got Talent. Loving It

  • wow this is just three years before melvin died...I've never seen him perform at this age R.I.P

  • @

INDIEJOL - ok mr know it all

  • I think this lead singer is incredible and every bit as good as Ruffin.

  • Ollie is a Great Singer but no where near Ruffin but he sounds closer to him then any of the others that have stood in his place. My Favoriet Temp is Diennis Edwards though because his voice was biger then even Ruffin Voice.

  • no it wasn't!

  • Ali Ollie Woodson's singing was actually as good or yes, even better than David Ruffin. His voice was remarkable. But he never got the credit, because he was known as a replacement to the great David Ruffin. If he had started out as an original, he would be known as one of the greatest singers ever.

  • ali is good! but he is not good as david ruffin! u can forget that!

  • Ali Woodson is one of the Best Singers, thats for sure. However the Top Dog is Gerald Alston.

  • Ollie is a bad mu..shut my mouth!

  • Whoopie had a show?

    Well I'll be damned. LOL.

    Didn't know that.

  • Ollie Woodson is one of the greats.

  • hey actually sang this better than the others except for of course Ruffin

  • Ruffin was definitely great...too bad he let it lal go to waste on drugs and things like that....truly sad indeed.

  • No Way!!!! Only David !!!!....

  • He's better than all of the other lead singers. This guy is GREAT!

  • god i frekin love this song.

  • Ali/Ollie Woodson is one of the best singers that I have ever heard. He's much better in person. Great voice.

  • absolutely brilliant, ali is an unbelievable vocalist, he sings with so much feeling, when you hear people that sing from the heart like ali does it gives you the goose bumps , fantastic.

  • please fix this audio is off from video

  • Could you please re-upload this? It's totally out of synch

  • this one is one of the best i've heard

  • Man this dude is similar to Ruffin... Only one Ruffin tho.

  • A little ...

  • @IronPillaz No he's better than Ruffin !!!!

  • @smokeyvelvet42 I admit he's pretty good but you cant beat Mr Ruffin

  • @IronPillaz You Can't be serious!!!??? Woodson was the best thing to happen to these guys. Ruffin went home early for a reason!!

  • @inn0v8tiv Woodson I admit it a fine talent.. but the reason he went home early had nothing to do with a lack of talent. All bow down to the smooth soulful voice of David Ruffin. Even Marvin Gaye was quoted as saying Ruffin was the voice of soul. I rest my case. Ruffin we salute you!!!

  • @IronPillaz

I actually prefer Ali-Ollie Woodson over David Ruffin & Dennis Edwards as the main lead.

It's too bad that he nor Paul Williams didn't remain in the group long enough.

  • @MyPhilthethrill Your preference really amounts nothing.. what matters is that David Ruffin was the truth. Ask anybody. I like Woodson.. a talented voice.. but when Marvin Gaye himself says that David Ruffin was the voice of Soul then then all others fade away in comparison.

  • @IronPillaz

I concede with your point; Ruffin was iconic with that gruff voice of his, but my preference does matter. Heck, I live in America. I just feel that Woodson's voice is more pleasing for me to listen to.

Plus, at least he never tried to make himself bigger than the group, like Ruffin. And, as far as I know, he never did any of those drugs that Ruffin dug into.

Also, Otis Redding sang this song as well. Listen to Otis' version & tell me if Ruffin is "the truth." Boom!

  • @MyPhilthethrill Ruffin's personal antics have nothing to do with his pure raw talent. Woodson having not delved into drugs and not wanting to be bigger then the group etc didnt mean his voice sounded better.. just meant that he didnt delve into drugs and didnt want to be bigger then the group. Brownie points for Mr Woodson. YAY!!!

I checked out the Otis Redding version, I must say I'm a huge Otis Redding fan but still the truth remains.. no one sang My Girl like the timeless Mr Ruffin

  • @IronPillaz

    Touche... touche....

Have you ever listened to "Hoops of Fire" by the Temps's?

Also, you should check out Ali's website dedicated to him and check some of the videos posted by Juanita Woodson.

By the way, I love "I Could Never Love Another (After Loving You)," which is one of my favs by Ruffin, by my sentiments remain the same for Ali-Ollie Woodson. :p

    :D

  • @MyPhilthethrill the real stars always have to be bigger than the group.. shit if it wasnt like that we would have jackson 5 not THE michael jackson

  • @MyPhilthethrill i agree with you. ali ollie woodson was one of the best lead singers.

  • @TheDenise1333

    Thank you.

  • @IronPillaz ruffin was amazing but in all honesty, Ali might have taken that crown!

  • thats the shit

  • Very nice. Thank you for posting

  • Too bad the video has gone out of synch,..

  • LOve this version. Would like you guys to comment and rate my version PLEEEEEZ :)

  • yea Ali is a great voice as soulful as Mr. Ruffin

  • dont get me qrong ALi was great i thank him for carrying tha temps. not taking anything from him but there was only one david ruffin

  • I really like this. Thanks a lot.

  • Um, Ali-Ollie almost sound just as good as David Ruffin

  • Ok, thx

  • And all those ex-temptations are now dead?

Wow, seems that group is pretty much cursed ^^

  • Who's the dude who is singing lead? He's good!

  • which one is melvin

  • 5th one on your right

  • Haha, a good question, but the way to tell is he has the deepest voice you've ever heard.

  • I love this. Is this Blue's last TV appearance?

  • I think the TnT battle at Disneyland was in like 1994. Thats the last appearence I've seen him on.

  • That's got Richard in it so it's got to be from 92 or before. There's a video out there of the group on the TV show getting by which has Blue & Theo, I think it's dated 93.

  • yeah does have richard...you're right... I wasn't thinking.

Getting by might be the last clip of blue.

although there is some dissention about when exactly he left. I'ver heard some say 93 or 94, but my friends who were regurarly going to concerts around that time say 92.

  • dam i cant stop listening to this song at 1:00 min. gets deep

  • dam so much soul! long live the Temptations.

  • damn I did not realize how good these Temps sound, they really do sound just as good as the old Temps. I am a big Temps fan. The lead singer is the truth.

  • Amazing voices. Beautiful song.

  • Ollie is a bad ass singer...great great voice!

  • good singing and much charm.

  • ollie is so under rated! great great GREAT singer. one of the best of all time.

  • Temps4life, yes Ollie was and still underated, but in my book, the best lead next to David Ruffin.

  • you dont know your temptations ron tyson is a falsetto he doing the high part clean out your ears and listen careful otis never sang the high part in my girl eddie did the high part otis was over him and whoever told eddie place did the high part its alway been that way

  • listen to the acappella version of "My Girl", and at the end u could listen to Eddie and "OTIS" singin "Talk about my girl" part , which is high ^^

  • Otis has an extensive vocal range and puts his voice where it needs to be, all the way from baritone to 1st tenor. This is why he is used mostly in the background. He does sing hi backround vocals on my girl. Listen to the original recording, you can hear him clearly. listen to them do it live even today and you can hear it. Ron Tyson does hi parts as well obviously. Go to Bruce's website and listen to the interview they did in england. They do my girl acapella.

  • ron tyson is singing the high part not otis

  • listen to Otis saying "my girl"( u can see him), and at the end saying "Talking bout my girl", u can clearly see him so no excuses

  • ollie is the truth

  • u can hear otis singing the high Parts that he and eddie used to sing, proves that he has Versatile Voice ^^

  • yep i`m happy too i don`t like richard street

  • im happy street didnt sing it

  • gc cameron sings "my girl" live with great credit, thanks whats for posting,1st time ive seen.

  • Ollie sure can sing some serious soul... the ONLY person I've heard that is able to do justice to David Ruffin's classics!! ;-) I didn't realize Ali-Ollie Woodson was this gooooood until hearing these numbers on Whoopee's show!! Just fabulous.

  • thanks for the post

  • The Magic Voice of Ali Ollie Woodson, outstanding. thanks heaps for posting this one with Whoopee
