Was taking our basset for daughter's show & tell. I'm in a wheelchair so I ran his leash through the right side of chair. She stepped of her class (2nd grade, I think) and said "Come on Barney!" He took off, the chair became diagonal and he drug it & me bouncing down the hall. With a powerful front end and traction from huge paws, a basset is more powerful than a tug-boat.

You wouldn't believe what we go through whenever he is used for stud service!

My Basset goes like the wind and he is very smart......I hate it when people think they are slow and dumb......Bassets are low to the ground and can go like stink.....they can track like no other....and they are the best pet man can have. The Basset wins again....I do not like fights....but they are just playing here. = )

I have a Basset hound (Shirley, aka Pigglet and Trouble) and a Japanese Akita (Sushi). They are the best of buddies and they're always having play fights. She always instigates the play fights and bosses him around. Shirley is stuborn, loves to sleep and is very good at catching mice. She is also very hard to say no to. She gives me that look. All Basset owners will know why Bassets are hard to say no to. That look! Love my Basset
