I wonder if the day will come when bionic limbs will funcition and look exactly like real limbs. To the point that you can't even tell the difference between a real hand or a bionic one. That would trully be a triumph in medical science.
This is amazing. I'm glad people are able to continue their lives with such support.
I think that in a short time from now, (when the prosthetics actually interact with the nervous system instead of just reading muscle information), videos like these will be very touching and personal when the end-user refers to the prosthesis as "my hand" and not "the hand".
hi ,beinging an engineer i fount this hand slow to react and didnt seem to have the speed i needed and the grip was poor , i use the otto bock speed han with rotator and really cant fault it , there is a new one out made by bebionic you can google it which i have been trying , you can get me directly stephenlowry@lavabit.com
It's still a fake hand, even though it's a good fake. Bionic replacements still can't come close to a well-rehabilitated transplant. They're never as simple as using your real hands.
this i limb is NOT as good as its made out i had one on trial and its bad points overwhelmed its good points the ottobok speed hand is much better i will post some vids of it
It's good. A fully integrated solution is ultimately necessary. Hopefully in 20 years an untrained person wouldn't know the difference. Straps and plastic sleeves should not be considered a permanent solution.
what a good looking young lady :) pretty!

It's too much like a man hand. Seinfeld would not approve.

I agree, a hand that is integrated with the nervous system is the way to go. It's coming though.
