I love the Muppets, but I'm kinda afraid to watch the new movie because the 3 that were made in Jim Hensen's lifetime are among my favorite movies of all time.

I dare say it's actually better than the Muppets Take Manhattan! (it's probably not QUITE as good as the other two, but it is incredibly close regardless)

Actually, they both stole it. It's an old vaudville bit. Cats were put in sacks and then 'played' with hammers. One of the more bizzare magic shows of a bygone era. I prefer Marvin Suggs tho'.

Lyle Conway built the plant for the film version, and MANY puppeteers coordinated to bring it to life, most notably Brian Henson. The Frank Oz connection to Little Shop of Horrors is that he *directed* the 1986 film, which also has Heather Henson as what she calls "the bit part girl" in a scene with Bill Murray.
