Hmm... I see what he means. The 360 came out with Gears 2, Fable II, and people prefer to buy the multiplatform games on the 360. I don't think PS3 took 2008, but they didn't completely suck ass. They improved and were at least a contender. In 2009, I don't know I'm not going to make prediction. Because now we have a game and it depends what cards MicroSoft and Sony plays. I didn't like the NXE and a lot of the people I know hated it so. That was a big minus we will have to wait and see.

The dreamcast failed because it was easier to pirate their games without much effort. It was almost like copying and pasting in 20 minutes. THAT'S what killed the console. Installing patches didn't exist back them to prevent it, thus making developers to go ape-shit and steering away from Sega.

I think you're leaving some things out, Trent. The Playstation 3 is not selling more than the Xbox 360 and Wii, but it's not selling horrible either. It's selling at Sony's goal, which is good on many levels. Since Playstation 3 and Xbox 360's games don't port often to the Wii, I don't think developers will help kill off the Playstation 3 like that. They need the money even if Playstation 3 isn't handing over as much as the Xbox 360. We worry too much about sales this generation. Too much.

Hmm... I see what he means. The 360 came out with Gears 2, Fable II, and people prefer to buy the multiplatform games on the 360. I don't think PS3 took 2008, but they didn't completely suck ass. They improved and were at least a contender. In 2009, I don't know I'm not going to make prediction. Because now we have a game and it depends what cards MicroSoft and Sony plays. I didn't like the NXE and a lot of the people I know hated it so. That was a big minus we will have to wait and see.

ps3 sales were up 130% over last year in december, and dissidia and white knight are pushing sony consoles to the head of the pack in japan. killzone 2, god of war 3, uncharted 2, heavy rain, MAG, ff13 (which will be worlds better on ps3), and more against some halo remakes from 360? theres no fable 3 or gears 3 or price cuts or nxe able to bail microsoft out now. they played all their cards, and 2009 will be the year of the playstation. imho the wii has like 5 decent games so its msft vs sony.

The dreamcast failed because it was easier to pirate their games without much effort. It was almost like copying and pasting in 20 minutes. THAT'S what killed the console. Installing patches didn't exist back them to prevent it, thus making developers to go ape-shit and steering away from Sega.
Fact is, the 360 has barely any momentum last year. Fable 2 and Gears 2 is all they had, with a side dish of multiplatform games.

In my opinion ps2 has been out for awhile. Now im not saying that it's better than 360 or ps3, im just saying that it has lasted this long AND still going. Games like god of war, god of war 2 were big hits and Star Wars: TFU recently came out and Lucasarts didnt just say "fuck the ps2", they know people still own the system. Plus you could buy the system 5,6,7 years ago and i bet it would still be working today.{I am NOT a sony fanboy} i like all systems.

I say PS3 did take 08. PS3 came out with more BETTER games than 360 or Wii. The Only Game on Wii that is actually up there with PS3 and 360 games is the almighty SSBB(Super Smash Bros. Brawl) PS3 let it all out this year. 360 only had a few games like GOW2 and still 07's game Halo 3. I think you're leaving some things out, Trent. The Playstation 3 is not selling more than the Xbox 360 and Wii, but it's not selling horrible either. It's selling at Sony's goal, which is good on many levels. Since Playstation 3 and Xbox 360's games don't port often to the Wii, I don't think developers will help kill off the Playstation 3 like that. They need the money even if Playstation 3 isn't handing over as much as the Xbox 360. We worry too much about sales this generation. Too much.
