@PnTNecrosis I would put any money on Watson over Daigo in Hyper Fighting on an arcade machine. Maybe you should watch the videos of Jeff Schaeffer beating Daigo in Hyper SF, you might change your opinion on this matter.

@Sakurazukamori2424 No. Because Hyper is irrelevant anymore. He has only gotten better over the years. Go to Daigos website and look at his record. He doesn't take 1st that often. But he's still genetically created to play Street Fighter ha.

I think people also got to realize that Mike was using a Hyper Fighting character while Daigo was using a champ. I'm not trying to defend Mike's loss, but keep in mind that champ characters do quite a bit more damage for every attack compared to their hyper fighting counterparts. I think a first to 10 in champ or hyper on an arcade board would have been much more fun.

Fighting someone like guile with ryu....ryu needs to do more attacking because the classic sonic-backhand will beat the fireball everytime.....Standing there just plan boring fire ball = no skill.

Guile owned Ryu/Ken in SF2. That low Fierce was %100 vs anything Ryu/Ken had incoming from the air, also the backhand counter to the sonic-fireball was effective. A real good game of "footsies" was his best hope, knock him down, and play mind games with throws, etc. Dhalsim- Guile was a much better matchup.

i can confirm it was me playing in this vid. i was the shitty ryu that couldnt uppercut when i wanted :( daigo beat me and i never truly adapted to console aside from 3s. hope that answers everyones doubts. thanks for posting a losing vid of me royalflush :( lol jk.

if you watch some mike watson matches you will see the play styles are identical. True their is no proff, but I am 99.9% sure that is really them playing.

Yeah, that's great play by Watson, he was a Guile master! Very patient, but took good chances on jumping once he found a pattern to Daigo's fireballs. Patient and smart play by Watson!

Daigo used to play Guile before ST came out (in SSF2). There were some videos from '94 with him playing Guile against a Cammy player.

I've been playing since SF @ The arcade since World Warrior came out at Age 7... A lot of young kids played back in the days... imagine how Japan was lol... 94 was actually the end of an era when it comes to SF, every kid knew how to throw a fireball back then, you can't be serious lol
