  • i love this song,

    and when i heard this at a 16's party,i almost cried :'c

  • I've never noticed that Love Grows, My Mind, Wine and Roses and Julia are other versions of Eyes On Me. :O

  • @Gargyl666 Waltz for the Moon and the concert where Rinoa was waiting for squall in disc 2 are other versions of Eyes On Me too.

  • @TLYEntertainment Thx ^^

  • there is one problem about this video......

it has a dislike bar >:O

  • I will listen to this even when I am 30,40,50,60,70 years old. Till the day I die...

  • This is by far the most beautiful song I´ve heard in any videogame. That part inside the ragnarok is just amazing.

  • Great song, shame some parts of the lyrics aren't very good. :(

  • thumbs up if your listening to this song in 2012

  • @axlrenz nope, i'm listening to it in nineteen-seventy-fucking-two.

  • Hong Kong vocalist with beautiful voice.

  • ,.nklughuigyvo;ij

  • This song always brings back such warm nostalgia when shit gets tough, but when she says, "So let me come to you..." I always lose it. I always wonder, will someone ever have those kinds of feelings for me? To never give up on me, no matter how much of a trainwreck I am?

...to get my heart beating again.

  • @TheF1nalResistance i feel the same way; i wonder the very same thing...

  • @ReohKnight We can't give up, bro. She must be out there.

  • @TheF1nalResistance Still looking for her, I will find her someday.

  • @TheF1nalResistance

Not to kill the mood here, but, there is no one like that, anywhere. The only time a woman will ever tolerate being with a guy who is a trainwreck is if she's known you since you were kids and grew up with you and was there from the start. Otherwise, unless youve got big muscles, a big bank account, a big dick and are metro-sexual, women will never go for you.

    I speak from experience...

    Otherwise, awesome song!

  • @themanfromvault101 haha oh no dont give up hope. And by the way, i am the girl from vault 101 :p life is to short to be cold hearted.

  • @themanfromvault101 Having a big Bank account will not bring a "Decent women" to you, the only thing you will experiance then is the women having a kid with you, divorcing you, and taking you for everything you ever worked for.

  • @themanfromvault101 Not true. If you're a BOSS and kick ass like Squall you get all the pussy!!

  • This is still my favorite vocal FF song, just in front of Melodies of Life. It's a simple but easy to understand song, sung by an extremely talented person. Definitely one of the major highlights of the game.

  • I remember messing around with the junction system on this game soooo much and finally figuring out how to junction my main character in a way where every attack the final boss would use just healed me. So I saved the game right before going to the last fight just to fly around in my cool ass ship and just having a great time. I loved this game

  • @Oversightism now what that has to do with this song is I could just go to final battle and beat her quick just to hear this song. well quick if she chose the right people to start the fight with

  • wtf I'm crying .. what..what. why is this happening damn you "eyes on me" you win again... I'm going to get a tissue

  • I think I discovered VIII just in time. I was 12 when I first played it - a time when my peers were pressuring me into becoming something of a misogynist - and reignited an old flame that reminded me of the romantic I used to be. Although, this was also a time when pop dance routines were becoming popular and Britney Spears became a sex symbol for the men and a role model for the women. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only guy who wishes women still wore skirts to the ankle...

  • RINNOOOOAAAAA!

*has the balls to go into space*

  • This song is so, so beautiful.

  • "My mother used to hold me like this"

    "I'm not your mother"

  • plz plz plz can any 1 tell me who sang this song ^_^ love her voice wanna hear more songs from her

  • @rocranjit Faye Wong, you derp. It's not hard to figure out.

  • wow... how many years left? i'm 24 right now, but i remember every moment when i heard this song the first time <3 omg this song.... must... not ... cry ~_~

  • It's a shame about Julia and Lugana

  • that time, when my bro. playing this on ps. i always waiting for sinematx.... love this song.. rinoa and squall :)

  • brilliant song fits perfectlly with FF8

  • brings back memories :,)

  • i cry everytime i hear this song...........amazing lyrics!

  • man i wish i wasn't so bad at approaching with girls this song makes me so sad

  • I know this forces me to forfeit my "man cards" but when it comes to this song... I live it. God help me I love it so.

  • @Stevie2Sxc Not at all! In my book I'd say you earned a few extra 'man cards' for openly admitting you like it.

  • @Stevie2Sxc This is indeed a beautiful song... and to be honest, I haven't seen the ending of FFVIII, but I know it has to be sweet... If this song is in it, it just has to be sweet...

  • @fish4mepl0x you must saw it

  • squall X rinoa 4ever :')

  • but I don't have a laptop nor wi-fi connection at home -_-

  • poor Laguna...

  • when i hear this song, i want to be marrieged whit mi grilfriend

  • I will never forget this song........

  • I love this song, I wish I could import it on my PSP, the full length song I mean

  • @Kyluyasha You can. It's simple. Go online and look for a youtube to mp3 converter. Convert this song, download it, and then place it in the music folder on your psp. :)

  • sniff my eyes are fully of water... sniffsniff ...it´s so beautiful *crying*

  • 16 people have no heart.

  • 'I'm more than the dress and the voice', I love the delivery there. Such a wistful and longing song...

  • So excited... This is going to be the first song my fiance and I dance to at our wedding! <3

  • sniff sniff

  • This is the only game I have ever played that was absolutely, 100%, spot on perfect.

  • Whatever

  • Found this song via a friend .. what an amazing song :)

  • Arrr the first vocals you hear in then game and the last... :(

  • this is one of the only songs you can play for anyone and make them cry. I have several times. ive never even played final fantasy 8.

  • I just realized that the English translation of the song is really bad. That's why Distant Worlds removed the lyrics all together. Still, you can easily get past the bad translation because the message is very universal. *tears*

  • It's because of Final Fantasy VIII, that I expect every video game I play to have a great soundtrack. FFVIII, you will always have a special place in my heart.

  • Does the screen flickers, or is there a tear in the eye?

  • I usually don't like this typ of music, but this one is awesome.

  • almost felt like I was in their dimension but when the game was over a portal opens out of nowhere calling me back to our own dimension and that time is up and i have to leave

  • @MrYumYom That was deep man. Thats how a truly good story is. Whether it be a game, a movie, or a book. For a short time it is a retreat from the world we all know. But when its done, it is like saying goodbye to a home, and to friends you may not see again.

It's songs like this that stir up those memories of a place long forgotten and for a short time you feel a soothing nostalgia.

  • @ rockettermetalish yeah I agree totally when I was done with this game i was very pissed off but also sad because the game was over. This may sound like i have no life but i dont give a shit I actually felt like I was in the game kicking it along with squall and everybody else like I actually met each and every one of them. almost as If i was actually in the world of final fantasy but by beating the game i feel like a part of me died and lost some good friends and now its all in memories only

  • Julia ftw.

  • Great song --> Brill game!! The tune reminds me of.... one of 王菲 songs^^

  • @katiech93 She DID sing this song ...

  • Comment removed

  • BOO to the 15 dislikes i love final fantesy and i am 13 years old been playing scince 7 years old loved it and still play it

  • @NostalgicSince2005 You make it seem like I use the emotes to cover something up? It's just ignorant, baseless assumption on your part. I use emotes for pretty much everything and anything, when speaking on the internet. The idea that you even felt the need to bring it up tells me it bothers you, not that I'm bothered in some way, so I use them. Your logic makes no sense. lol

Furthermore, by proving you're wrong, I'm right, so how has that neglected to prove my comment? It hasn't. You fail. =P

  • i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry i must not cry

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever heard in a videogame or anything else...

  • Who else remembers the first time they heard this...

  • @PdubzCrew i remember i was at my house in my hometown which im not there anymore and my sister was like hey listen to this song but she was yelling across the house so i heard and ever since that day ive loved this song.

  • @PdubzCrew I was 10 years old, home sick during a really bad sinus infection, and my parents took pity on me and put a small TV in my room that I could hook up my PS1 to. And when the song came on, I nearly cried! And it still has that effect on me now. *sniff*

  • @PdubzCrew An uninteresting scene in which nothing happens?

  • I said to my friend that I want this song to be played at my wedding and she told me she'd remind my boyfriend in the future.

  • pro song this was when final fantasy was a worth completeing not like all these newer ones wich suck all gfx and no gameplay

  • This (the space scene) to me is the most emotional scene in the series.

  • I've always wanted someone to sing this to me. I sing it to myself instead. :D

  • @NostalgicSince2005 If you expect to find a few examples, it's obviously not difficult. If you expect to find mass amounts, it will be difficult, because you'd have to dissect all the comments involving FF8. I've only given two examples, because that's what you asked, assuming I couldn't do it. "I bet there wasn't a single person". Your words.

I found one. You complained like a whiny bitch, asked for another, I gave another. Also, how do I "seem to be freaking out"? Lol You retarded, bro? =P

  • Comment removed

  • @NostalgicSince2005 When did I say "Not easily found"? I didn't have a hard time finding two examples. Desperate much? Making up excuses for your double comments? Whatever helps you sleep at nite. =P

  • @NostalgicSince2005 For starters, it's a search engine. Typing different things yields different results every time. So I *seriously* doubt you searched very well. Secondly, finding "comments", not "reviews" of people critiquing the junction system is not something that's easily found. Third, Posting twice makes you look really desperate. lol

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Who said anything about changing the subject? Lol You asked me something and I gave you "prove", twice. You want to find more examples? Do so yourself, stupid ass. Google is filled with them, if you know where to look. What you also fail to realize, is not EVERYTHING is a review. You're too much of a simple minded retard to understand that simple concept. There's plenty of "comments" as well, from individuals who don't do reviews, riddled all over the place. Lol

  • @NostalgicSince2005 I'm glad you used those as examples, because you wouldn't want to use "prove" as an example right? No, no, you casually left that one out, didn't ya? =P

I find the humor in you repeating the EXACT same mistake twice, after already being called out on it, extremely humorous. Lol That's not a mistake. It's stupidity. What now, "one time", bandit? Yeah, nothing to say about that, right? Thought so. =P

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Lol I like how you refer to your stupidity as "little errors". A typo/missed comma is a little error. When you can't tell the difference between "Then", "Than", "There", "Their", "Proof", and "Prove", you're the mistake, not your writing. =P

You made a shit-ton of grammar errors that I didn't call to your attention, because they're minor things, like missed, or overused commas. So you hit a wall again, buddy. I'm not a Grammar Nazi, just not an idiot, such as yourself. Lol

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Very little "prove" in your mind. =P Oh I'm no fan boy. Simply stating why most don't bother to play the game. The junction system, simply put.

Maybe you should work on your grammar more, rather "then" being a virgin troll. Lol

You sound like a moron, and you don't even realize it. How you doing over "their"? Not straining what's left of your braincells are you? Troll on! =P

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Ohhhh I get it now. You took offense because you're one of those bent out of shape morons, who dislike FF8 and make it their mission to troll the shit out of videos, more often "then" not. Lol

Hello? Retard? You bitched and whined for more "prove". So I gave you more "prove", like you wanted, dumbshit. =P Haven't looked in the mirror much, have you? Oh irony....... Lol

"I bet their wasn't a single person" Gave you "prove". "besides spoony" Gave you "prove", so "their". Lol

  • @NostalgicSince2005 I know you're a retard, but try to keep up.

"I bet there wasn't a single person" -- "besides spoony". Even just one person makes the argument valid, but you're too much of a retard to understand that right? "nowhere near that old" Nah, ya think? I guess you never heard of sarcasm or the word "proof", for that matter. Nice. Dumbass.

You make it sound, like your pathetic virgin troll ass is the, be all, end all, of arguments btw? If you don't believe, that's your problem.

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Yeah because all the reviews written about a game over a thousand years old are still around? Are you hearing your stupidity? Yes looking up reviews at the end of 2011 for a game that came out in 1998-1999.

When the game was fresh, people bitched about the junction system like it was a trend. Bitching that the junction system was too confusing to understand. *People*, gave up on the game before trying because of not understanding the junction system, too lazy or stupid.

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Look up various reviews, instead of mouthing off like a fucking moron. Here, I'll give you one, since you're obviously too lazy to find one yourself, despite the fact that there are plenty that make mention, in text and in video. Check that guy called "spoony" for his review on final fantasy 8. Just one of many reviews.

Trying searching something called "google" if you need to find more. I hope you're not so stupid, that you don't know how to use a search engine. Good luck.

  • FF8 Forever one of the best ff ever

  • :((

  • FF8 was my first FF and I was 16. I was felling love with Squal and this song really touched my heart.

  • @mocomocokappa I was 17 when it came out, just like the character cast. EPIC game.

  • First time I saw this scene I teared up. This game has one of the most heartwarming stories of all time.

  • this song hits me every time. Definately starting this game again when i have some spare time

  • What a great song. Recounts a time in my life. I did mourn remembering those moments in my life.

Anyone who has played this game, is very fortunate to have known him. Nobuo Uematsu, thanks for giving us many moments of joy, sadness, action, love, memories. And all for your great music. This game shows that some games are not just games. These things are part of our lives.

Thank you for giving so many dreams.

    Long live Final Fantasy VIII!

  • Nobuo Uematsu is just a genius

  • Yes, YES, let the butthurt flow through you!

  • Uma das musicas mais lindas e perfeitas da historia dos games.

Sempre me emociono quando esculto e lembro do final épico do game.

  • Thumbs up if 1up can go right ahead and fuck themselves.

  • @ender2999 This song is for those that appreciate the game... not haters and you shouldn't be here if you think it's so "corny and shitty". I also wouldn't bother with the reviewer at 1up that was badmouthing this song for they do not what good music and video games is if it were to hit them in the face.

  • @ender2999 873 thumbs went up 1up's as

  • my Girlfriend have forced me to watch countless chickflicks, i have on my own accord played probably over 500 games in my lifetime so far, I've listened to music from every genre there is. But i have never found a movie that accually makes my skin crawl like this story, i have never played another game wich made me cry, and i have never heard another song this perfectly harmonius. i use this clip couse im afraid i'd cry if i use a youtube clip with accual scenes from the game. 10 years later...

  • I love how this song is able to portray such emotions within me. It gives off both a reminiscent feel, mainly because it's Julia reflecting on her time with Laguna, and a loving feel in the words and how they're sung. And this song always makes me tear up a bit. I may be a guy, but I just love it when a game can successfully combine action and romance along with the successful execution of the music. I just wish that Nobuo can portray these emotions to us all in another game such as this.

  • @chiisaiaoiryu It's also a metaphor for Squall and Rinoa's relationship

  • Don't fucking cry, don't fucking- AWWWW ç_____ç

  • I can listen to this song until the day I die... :) Long live FF!

  • When they remake FF7 and FF8, I can die happy.

  • This game was an utter masterpiece. The story, the emotion..every aspect was blended perfectly. It will forever be one of my fondest memories playing my PS1.

  • My first ff :3 didn't beat it :c

  • so beautiful

  • Dammit......I'm not supposed to like sappy songs like this......I like rock and heavy metal......WHY CANT I TURN IT OFF!?

  • @DanTheMan8819

Nothing wrong with that, my friend. :D

  • What do you guys think? FF7 v.s. FF8... which is better?

  • @xiongrl FF8

  • @xiongrl I say...No contest between them. They're both good.

  • Comment removed

  • I had a dream that Tohru from Fruits basket sang this song to Kyo and started to dance and sing with him at the same time.

  • ='( Very sad ... I love so much this game

  • i like this song not because its nice, its because it remember my love..

    RINOA..

  • ive played every FF game there is. in my opinion 7,8, and 9 are easily the best

  • i agree Final Fantasy 8 has the best love story. and the music the way it has many versions of the same theme fits the story really well

  • Most ignoramus's never bothered to give FF8 a chance, just because they didn't understand how the junction system worked. It's a testament to how stupid the human population truly is. I was 12 at the time and I understood the entire system in less than 5 minutes. Even my 6 year old younger sister, at the time, understood how to work the junction system. It's pathetic.

The verdict? More often than not, it's the fucking morons, who disliked FF8. The ones too stupid/lazy to figure out how to play.

  • @Lance241151 THIS. Dude, I could not agree more. Junction system was easy as pie. I remember reading reviews of VIII when it first came out and SO MANY of them lowered the game's score simply because "...the junction system is too complicated."

    My reaction?

    >:O

  • @Lance241151

My sisters (twins) figured it all out at 6 years old. Final Fantasy 8 was their favorite game. They played it more than me, and I still have the original game, and the player guide as well. It is still my favorite of all the Final Fantasy games.

  • @SDPaldora1 FFVII is way too overrated, can't blame the people who got it first though. FFVII is great and all, but such games as FFVI, VIII, IX and X were equal to it. It's just every FF has something own, even FFX-2, FFXII and FFXIII.

  • @DarkxSeraphim I completely agree. 7 is way too overrated. Most people who say that they are Final Fantasy fans have only ever played that one and never experienced a game as great as this.

  • i wish that i was same handsome as squall.and girl like rinoa as my girlfriend

  • Only two final fantasy songs made me cry in the whole series, this one when Squall and Rinoa are in the Ragnarok and she starts crying feeling alone when she absorbes the sorceress powers and squall hops over to comfort her, and in ff7 when Aeris dies and Cloud is crying over her loss and her theme is playing in the background.

  • @lileric132000 Final Fantasy VIII made me cry when Squall puts her on his back and takes her ON FOOT to the city nobody knows how to get to.

Final Fantasy VII, yep, Aeris's death.

  • @lileric132000 ha that is exactly like me i love how these games make you feel for it

  • @lileric132000 Aeris' death wasn't sad. It was funny because Sephiroth came out of nowhere like always.

I don't know why the FFVII fanboys are so die hard about it. When you really think about it, FFVII is ridiculous.

  • @justa16thnote I don't understand all the hate for FF7... There's a reason it was the most commercially successful and like it or not it's the reason RPG's have become more prominent on consoles nowadays... Originally they were mostly for PC and were very limited of their release on consoles outside of Japan...

I don't think FF7 is the best game out their but moaning and whinging about it being liked by other people is frickin stupid...

  • @Jonoridge As someone who was there in 1997 when it came out. I was disappointed. Only in how big of a fail that Sephiroth and Cloud were. I didn't think much of it, I actually liked the idea of a group of environmentalists against a major corporation, but then Sephiroth came in and ruined my initial image of Cloud. Then Aeris died and that killed it. Then, for some reason, it's a ground breaking game. It wasn't the game, it was the hype.

You would have had to be there to understand.

  • @justa16thnote Having still got my copy on PS1 that i bought back in 1997 i would safely say i was there... Maybe it is the nostalgia effect that makes the game so good? I don't think so but maybe... But for me that game was unlike anything i'd ever played... I'm from England so we had next to no RPG's like it before hand, the only ones we really got were the PC ones like Balders Gate which are a completely different style.

  • @justa16thnote I was there my good man. Loved it then, love it now. Problem is, nowadays if ANYONE even mentions that they like FF7, they get called a fanboy. I loved 'em all. 7 has a special place because it was my first, no matter how much random internet guys tell me "You're gay for Cloud", it ain't gonna change my opinion :)

  • @justa16thnote Regarding Sephiroth coming into play. I couldn't disagree with you more. I actually found it awesome that for a large portion of disc 1 it sets up Shinra to be the main antagonists in the game but it brings in this beyond evil character. I think Aeris dying did put a dampening on things but the death served a purpose and the moment itself was very powerful. With the image of Cloud, the fact that he was subconsciously living out someone else's life i thought was very clever.

  • @Jonoridge people hate FF7 because it's not that much better than 8, 9 & 10 to warrant the ridiculous fandom, and the insane amounts of spinoffs it got, when to be honest the others had much more detailed worlds to explore. 7 was absolutely fantastic, but is it THAT much better than the others? Certainly not. Other, more interesting FF ideas are constantly pushed aside in favour of more FF7 spinoff/remake rumours. Most true Final Fantasy fans are tired of this shit.

  • @videogamenostalgia I must disagree :P I think of FF7 as my favorite because I personally felt that it had a great story, interesting characters, and fun battles! Now don't get me wrong I love all the Final Fantasy games! However FF7 is my favorite and would choose above all others any day. I think of myself as a true Final Fantasy fan but I just think FF7 was the best. I know this is just my opinion, but that is what I feel. I am not the typical FF7 fanboy that shits on the others >.<

  • @MessyAbyss I'm glad you're not one of those crazed FF7 who like to shit on other FFs. Personally FF9 was my favorite due to it's touching storyline, gameplay and music. Sadly nobody cares about that game and care a lot about FF7 from what I've seen. 7 was good but 9 was a masterpiece, I hope I'm not offending you. It's just highly underrated and deserves the same attention as FF7.

  • @MissKairi101 Actually you would be suprised how many people love FF9! Personally, I would love it if every Final Fantasy got awsome praise :D Except for anything above 10 >.< Again though that is just me. Also no offense taken at all! Everyone has their opinion. I say we all just enjoy Final Fantasy and leave it at that :D

  • @MessyAbyss Really? I don't know. I noticed some people never even heard of FF9.10 is my 2nd fav haha We should all be glad we get to experience the Final Fantasy Paradise :)

  • @MissKairi101 Well if they haven't even heard of FF9 than I am shocked xD However I know multiple people who love FF9 :D Though I will be honest and say is isn't really one of my favorites >.< FF7, FF4, and FF8 are my favs :P And I am very glad I am one of the chosen to really appreciate the Final Fantasy Paradise lol

  • @MissKairi101 Every Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts except FF7 sucks big time. Trololololol...

Nah. I kid. I kid. They're all fun in their own right. :J

  • @videogamenostalgia I don't think FF7 was better than some of the other FF games at all.

  • @videogamenostalgia what an elitist fucking cunt. The majority of fans prefer VII, to the rest of the series - get the fuck over it, you're not better than said fans. FFVII got the amount of spinoffs because MORE PEOPLE were interested in them, end of story. It was a lot of people's first FF, that is the main reason why a lot of people hold it in the hearts, and it's a completely justified reason.

  • @JudgeMazza Firefly is better.

  • @SavageArms357 apart from the fact that FF doesn't stand for Firefly, mainly because Firefly is one word, so the appropriate initialism would be F, and even then most people would think you meant fuck...hmmmm

  • @JudgeMazza I meant Firefly the TV show. It was a joke on fanboyism.

  • @SavageArms357 jokes have a punchline.

  • @JudgeMazza Not all jokes.

  • @SavageArms357 ALL jokes. Some are subtle, but they all have a punchline. You just threw something random out there. It wasn't a joke.

  • @JudgeMazza That's simply not true, something can be a joke and not have a punchline.

Basically, I saw that you had shit all over that other guy, simply because his opinion didn't agree with yours. So I thought it would be funny to randomly say that Firefly is better, because I'm a Firefly fanboy.

  • @SavageArms357 No, no no...if it has no punchline, it's not a joke; it's a random statement - which you now admit to. And yes, I take a dim view on elitism, i shit on elitists...it's a tough, but someone's got to do it.

  • @JudgeMazza From Wikipedia.

    Avoiding the punch line:

Not all jokes have a punchline in a classic sense. Some comedic sketches simply end abruptly, or fade to black without a conclusion

    Also, Cloud is emo.

  • @SavageArms357 Wrong again. Just because it's subtle, or just because you don't get it, does not mean it doesn't exist. No comedy sketch lacks a punchline, indeed the lack of a "punchline" can be the punchline itself.

  • @JudgeMazza Then I shall agree to disagree.
