OMG, that's filmed atop that greasy grill at 7th and Main, Margarita's Place I think, with the big red TORTAS sign. They are always open and have great tacos if you're aching for them at 4am, like me many times. Same block as the Cecil Hotel too. I remember the event from the news but didn't realize it occurred at one of my haunts. LAPD haven't changed, this is still a police state. U2 thanks for rockin' here for us, plz come back and play again!

This was an actual real event. They set up on a random building to see what would happen if they started playing and recorded it all for this. People came in mobs and police kicked them off eventually. Pretty sure U2 got fined aswell.

@DaveWollenberg I think it got to #2 in Ireland but it was behind With or Without you! U2 was (and still is) the most famous Irish band! Not only are they the most famous Irish band, they're my favorite band of all time! Back in 1987 when The Joshua Tree came out, U2 had all of the Billboard Top 4 in Irish charts:
