there are respectable brushless motors now and simple kits too attach to the bike, i have a 37 volt 650watt system which can reach speeds upto 40mph roughly.

i used a lifopo4 battery which is very light and has alot of runtime to it. (20 ah ) so i get about 15 25 miles.
