  • I didn't know there was a colorized version of "Holiday Inn." It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Thanks!

  • Thank you for this beautiful video, and in color too! Oh my word, how special this was and still is to this day.

  • commented on christmas (c)

  • So missing to Home .

  • Thank you to DNDDS for the last message, What a diference from the other member who left an offensive one for no reason that I can even contemplate. What sort of person types out those words, knowing the general public (including children) might read it ?. .

  • This is a great posting. I didn't know this film had been colorized. I agree it's better with the color. Thank you for kindly posting this beautiful holiday memory. DON'T GIVE UP!

  • @dndds

The colorized version of Holiday Inn is on DVD now, and also It's A Wonderful Life.

I used to hate attempts of colorizing b/w movies, but now I think they have nailed it.

Wonder if they guess the color of things, or copy from color photographs??

  • My apologies to other youtube members who unfortunatly see this message. This type of response was never what I had expected I just wanted people to see it and enjoy it. I will not place any more clips and maybe I will withdraw this and retire from youtube soon.

  • Does anyone where i can download that version of the song? on itunes you only get version with a fucking part in the middle of the song.

  • This wonderful song was played on the P.A. speakers all through Saigon in 1975 to signal the end of The Vietnam War,my dad served in Vietnam so this song has special meaning to me..Have A wonderful Christmas everyone :)

  • Thanks for posting ! :)

  • The late great Alastair Cooke (the journalist, not the cricketer who is still alive) remarked that when this song came out in December 1942, the US Army was either deep in desert or in jungle. One reason why it was the first record, I believe, to reach one million sales.

  • Though WHITE CHRISTMAS(the movie, that is) is better known, I have always felt that this(HOLIDAY INN) is a much better film.

  • this is one of my favourite christmas songs, I had no idea previously that it was first in a movie.

  • Yep, like the color...but love the song even more. Thanks!

  • 1942! White Christmas, where we'll we ever be 20 years FROM NOW? Sorry, I don't speak Madrian.

  • didn't anyone notice at the end the fire was blazing then it died in 2 seconds?

  • Absolutely beautiful in every way. I, too have watched this since I was a little child, and it was always in black & white, but the colors are beautiful, and especially add such dimension to their faces.

  • I have loved this movie since I was 8,and I am shocked Marjorie's voice was cut out of this scene..I hope thats her singing in other scenes,B&W is better but this is one moment in this movie that calls for color.

I'm afraid the youtube police pulled the best B&W version,so I hope this one stays up through Christmas.

  • Thank you for the message, It is best I do not comment on the dubbing issue as I would not want to spoil any feelings people might have about this or any other film. It is funny about colorization, some like me absolutely love it and it is the reason I fell in love with this film all over again in 2003 and watch it every few weeks, others are not as keen and I just respect their feelings. In any case I am glad you enjoyed the scene. kind regards, Robin.

  • @ZimmermanRules the black and white fim is better, and the youtube police better watch out, or they will push so many of us away, that they wo'nt have enough of us to keep it going, and then where will they be. keep posting.

  • @mumandauntyglad Yes because videos online keep memory of these good oldies alive to the younger people that don't or not able to watch movie channels that have them. These movies are old enough, that they shouldn't be censored but enjoyed fully.

  • @ZimmermanRules That is why I love watching movies like this on TCM channel. They tend to play more original things and don't have the commercials interrupting the movies.

  • How wonderful to see this film in colour.I think all B&W films should be colourized,as the gowns look so beautiful in colour.Thank you for showing this.
