I'm having an issue with this program. When I put a compatible video file in the sound track, it plays just fine when I scroll back. I can hear it play backwards and it sounds weird like it should. But when I go to play it forward, it makes no noise. I've tried adjusting the volume, but it doesn't work. Please help.
@hospiter Do you have Pinnacle Studio? If yes, then there is a work around. You can use you video 1 and overlay for the first two video tracks. Then you can use the title track as a third video track by adding a montage to it. This is a great way to create a third track. You can also use motion titles to create that third video track too on the title track. If you need more tracks, then take a look at AVID Studio which will allow you to have unlimitted layers of video tracks. Cheers, Anthony
@TheLovePuppy1011 My first question is have you ever used Pinnacle Stuido before? If yes, then I would recommend always going with the newest version. Pinnacle Studio 15 also comes with a lot more content and effects then versions of 14. There are also 3 versions of each software...the Ultimate Collection comes with the most effects. It also comes with 6 Red Giant plug-ins that are really cool to create amazing special effects. I would also look at AVID Studio too!
@NWFCKevin Are you capturing using the RCA cables? Just make sure everything is connected correctly...video is always yellow and audio is red and white...sometimes it is just a simple connection issue. Also make sure you have video coming out of your program too. If none of this works, then I would check tech support at Pinnacle...I am sure it something simple.
@belthazormn1 I used an AVID Studio Vocal Studio with the USB Microphone and recorded the voiceover directly into the Pinnacle Studio Timeline. I made my own wind screen...I took some packing foam and used a rubber band to hold it in place. The glamour side of the industry. Some other tricks too would be to be in a quite place too and not a large room. If you are recording at home a closet full of clothes make a great sound booth. Great Question thanks for asking it!!!
@MazphiroWoW Yeah the software has really grown over the years. If you really want to be amazed check out the AVID Studio version...it is like the big brother of Pinnacle Studio...best feature is unlimitted layers of audio and video...it has the feel of a professional editor with out the professional price tag that typically comes with one. It still does all of the cool things that Pinnacle Studio did and more!!!
@tomyazvids You should contact Yahoo because they should not have deleted your videos. You opened an account with Yahoo and you have a partnership with them too...that makes no sense on there part.
@tomyazvids I'm confused...did yahoo video delete studio user videos? I just checked my Pinnacle Studio 15 and the Yahoo! Video export to the web is still there.
@magnum1165 Studio 14 and 15 has Stop Motion Capture built into the importer, if you are creating an animation from scratch. If you have all of the images already captured you need to go into settings and change import for images/photos to 1 frame...then import the photos into your timeline. This should do the trick for you.
i edit out clips that i wanted and when i go to save the project it saves all the clips not just he ones i edited out, how can i just save the edited clips?
@Ogiosniping Pinnacle Studio is non-destructive! When u edit a clip in the timeline all of the other footage remains. This is how most editing programs work. If u have a 20 minute clip and only want 2 minutes, then I recommend that u export the 2 minutes and then delete the 20 minute clip from your hard drive. Or u can export your finished movie & delete all of the original clips from the hard drive of computer. Your finished movie is your new clip with your important clips.
Before you start editing go to the drop down menu and select <Setup and now select <Project Preferences. A box will open up for you...go to Project Preferences and choose <Use this format for new projects. From the pull down in that box you will see all different preferences....if you choose NTSC Standard that will be 4:3 and if you choose NTSC Widescreen that will be 16:9.
@tkoga70 That may be a graphic card issue (with your computer)...if the graphic card is not good enough it will not show you the slider. You can also play with your resolutions too...if you change the settings then it might appear. I hope that this helps!

@MarkLisaLeon It sounds like you want to creat an AVCHD disc. I use my DVD burner to burn about 20 minutes of HD footage on to a standard DVD. Then I take the disc and I play it in my blu-ray player. It is an affordable way for me to use Pinnacle Studio to make HD discs on a standard DVD. I hope that this helps.
@iiHyPeZz How fast is your hard drive? 7200 rpm? Also, are you recording to one hard drive or do you have a second hard drive? When recording video it is better if you have a second hard drive for your video.
Hey maybe you can help me. I'm using this software to edit my gameplay videos that I record with fraps. But the thing is, that when I drag a clip to the timeline the orange line becomes green and it starts loadiing the clip, I think. If I want to play that clip the picture freezes but the audio from that clip goes on. It takes forever to the clips to load. Why does this happen? I didn't see it happen for you..?
@DaNeShady90 What is fraps? It sounds like Pinnacle Studio is attempting to rerender the video file you have. If Studio has a non-native video file in its timeline it is going to attempt to translate it, so Studio can see it.
@DaNeShady90 Have you experimented with different resolutions. I just went to look at Fraps and it says that the resolution can be captured at 2500 x 1600 which is very large. You might want to bring that capture size down. Remember standard definition TV is 720 x 480. Do some experimenting with the capturing.

@BlindingOneShotz Sounds like there may be an issue with the speed of your computer not being able to keep up with the capture. Are you capturing to a second hard drive in the computer or to an external hard drive? Preferrably a 7200rpm Drive? That might be one way to fix the problem. Also, make sure that you are not running other programs too. If you only have one hard drive in the computer then you might be causing it to drop frames.

Or can I edit Chapter 1 and save it as one file, then Chapter 2 ans save it as other file and at the end, make a file linking these other two files to create a DVD?
@AnthonyMartorina I'm asking because I have "heavy" files (all HD movies) and although my computer is better than the minimum required for Studio 14 Ultimate, I'm sure it will require lots of memory to have everything opened.
@bassnicola Hello Nicola, You are correct having alot of HD files open on a computer can slow it down. One way you could do this would be to edit Chapter 1 and then render it out. Then do the same for Chapter 2 and so on. When you go to build your DVD you would simply bring back the different chapters in your timeline. This will take a little time with the rendering. @AnthonyMartorina yes, i have a Toshiba Camileo S10 camera, with a 4gb sd card, i think i solved the problem, but i have to convert the *.avi files with FLV converter first, so i can actually open the movies... but i still think that it should open the avi files from the memory card...
@rmas199 Are you trying to edit off of the memory card? Because if you are that may be an issue too...the card may not be fast enough for the software and computer to keep up. Make sure that you move those files to the hard drive of the computer.
@5xmars Simply go to the folder on your hard drive where you put the clips you captured and select delete. This will delete your files off of the hard drive. Make sure that you want these files deleted because you will only be able to bring them back if you capture your clips from your tape or camera hard drive.
I'm sorry, but to me, this program is bugged to oblivion. Whenever I speed a clip up, it shows a different clip from the one I choose when I change the speed. many others too, and very unstable.
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues. I would make sure that you have the latest update of the software downloaded. I also recommend that you update the drivers for your graphics card in your computer. This sounds like it may be the problem without physically looking at your system. If this does not help, please contact customer support at Pinnacle for more troubleshooting.
I am glad you found the video helpful. The feature you are asking to do is called Picture in Picture and yes you can do it in Pinnacle Studio 14. First make sure you have two tracks of video on top of each other. From the pull down menu, select "Toolbox", now select "Add Video Overlay Effects" and this opens the Picture in Picture Tool. The second track is now squeezed over the first track and you can now customize the effect.
