If they let this appointment go through.. it adds legitamacy to blagojevich's claim that he is innocent. If they block the appointment of roland burris, Its a slap on the wrist and could be seen as a black mark to burris's career. Blagojevich is caught red handed and will eventually be impeached, but there is no reason to punish burris for blagojevich's mistakes.
