And the new ride The SkyRocket is quite lame. Top speed of 50 mph? I drive about 80 mph on the way to get to Kennywood.
And how about the ticket prices? 37 bucks for a day? Spend the extra 13 bucks and go to Cedar Point where they have 17 roller coasters while Kennywood can't even hit 10.

I had always wondered why the train goes slower at one point up the lift hill when there is two trains. Whenever there is only one train running, it doesn't go as slow up the lift hill. @hymnsinger5 Coasters have what are called block sections on a ride (where a train can be stopped). When there are 2 trains going, the train going up the lift goes slower until the other train is completely in the station, it is a safety thing.
@DeadxAsaSan214 It was because too many people were getting hurt because of the speed of the ride and the g-forces when they got to the loops that it messed up their necks.

So your first urge is to duck, but that isnt always the best thing to do cuz sometimes you hit your head on the bar in front of you cuz your going so fast. @dafutureiznow32 We replaced the loops for two major reasons. 1. People were complaining of neck and back injuries. 2. Because the Phantom is built on a hill, every year the earth moved enough, causing us to have to replace sections of the track every year.
@dafutureiznow32 they didnt remove ithe loops because people were scared lol. the coaster was falling apart so they completely re-did it. now its the 10th fastest coaster in the world
@mikehlebik The only problem with the loops is that the restraint had to go over your shoulders and the ride was so rough that your head would bang against the restraint, causing bad headaches. With the newer version, the ride has lap bars, which make the ride more enjoyable.
I rode this coaster when it was still THE STEEL PHANTOM!!!! The three loops that they took out messed up your ears. they would be beet red when you got off. But they changed a couple of years after high school(Go TJ Jaguars class of '97) and i never went on the phantom's revenge. I miss kennywood.
i actually live in west mifflin and last year i got a season pass and went to kennywood 15 times! I love the phantoms revenge! I go on it at least 5 times of every time i go there. Now, im 10 and love it still. They keep building better rollercoasters, but this is now personaly my second favorite. Its way more scarier than it looks. I almost puke on the second hill everytime. I't a 80 degree drop for 6 seconds. I hope everyone gets a chance to ride this aesome rollercoaster!!!!!

@jhoncena1111 It goes 85 MPH bcoz the 1st Huge hill sends u directly to the 2nd larger hill ~260 ft. Unlike coasters built on flat grnd like MForce, the Phantom doesn't have to climb UP & slow down. The 2nd hill, which looks like a small hill until u crest it, goes WAY DOWN the river valley, very steeply. And since u don't slow down, you're already FLYING at the Top. The vid doesn't show the view from the 2nd hill very well (it's hard to aim a cam when you’re being Yanked down @ 85 MPH).

I too was disappointed when they took out the cluster of inversions. I never really got excited about Loops, until the Steel Phantom! It had a Loop, Double Corkscrew, & two connected exit-out-the-side Loops ( Cobra Roll ). It was FUN and you had time to know you were upside down. But they were just the icing on the cake. The 2 MEGA-Hills, the way they're connected, the Heart-Stopping Surprise, Threading the Thunderbolt Lattice @ 85 MPH, etc. is what makes this coaster the World's Greatest!
@ejk199413 MForce is good but totally diff & WAS all about being the tallest. Its what, 40' taller? Each yr some1 builds 1 taller/faster. Only a big deal 4 a yr. TTDragster-450' & KingdaKa-480' blow away MForce. The Phantom has been a top coaster for 16 yrs bcoz it has more than records. Thats the diff between a GREAT 1 & a shooting star. im mad they took the loops out. i say screw da people who were 2 scared to go on dis ride cuz of loops but they can take a 225 foot drop???? doesn't make sense 2 me

@dafutureiznow32 We replaced the loops for two major reasons. 1. People were complaining of neck and back injuries. 2. Because the Phantom is built on a hill, every year the earth moved enough, causing us to have to replace sections of the track every year.

@dafutureiznow32 they didnt remove ithe loops because people were scared lol. the coaster was falling apart so they completely re-did it. now its the 10th fastest coaster in the world

@mikehlebik The only problem with the loops is that the restraint had to go over your shoulders and the ride was so rough that your head would bang against the restraint, causing bad headaches. With the newer version, the ride has lap bars, which make the ride more enjoyable.

I rode this coaster when it was still THE STEEL PHANTOM!!!! The three loops that they took out messed up your ears. they would be beet red when you got off. But they changed a couple of years after high school(Go TJ Jaguars class of '97) and i never went on the phantom's revenge. I miss kennywood.

i actually live in west mifflin and last year i got a season pass and went to kennywood 15 times! Kennywood will alwayss be my favorite childhood memory! plus the only ride i really went on is the phantom's revenge! love the first hill when you can see the High School right across the parking lot and past micky D's

i go there twice a year i live in West Virginia and its 2hrs away i sit in the front to and i remember my friend road it with me and on the first hill he hit his head on the bar hahaha and wined about it all day haha hes were 13 idk y he was wining

so once my brother and sister went on this and they decided to scream on the way up the first hill and say nothing on the way down.It worked,until they got to the first turn where i was watching.my sister went moo. i dont know why i posted this but yeah

I love the phantoms revenge! I go on it at least 5 times of every time i go there. Now, im 10 and love it still. They keep building better rollercoasters, but this is now personaly my second favorite. Its way more scarier than it looks. I almost puke on the second hill everytime. I't a 80 degree drop for 6 seconds. I hope everyone gets a chance to ride this aesome rollercoaster!!!!!

@jeroen0011 HAha.....i wish there were loops 2. But they got rid of them. The ride used to be called Steel Phantom, it had a couple loops. But the ride was rough, so they changed the track up, re-named it Phantom's Revenge, and took out the loops, to make it faster and more fun =D

@jhoncena1111 It goes 85 MPH bcoz the 1st Huge hill sends u directly to the 2nd larger hill ~260 ft. Unlike coasters built on flat grnd like MForce, the Phantom doesn't have to climb UP & slow down. The 2nd hill, which looks like a small hill until u crest it, goes WAY DOWN the river valley, very steeply. And since u don't slow down, you're already FLYING at the Top. The vid doesn't show the view from the 2nd hill very well (it's hard to aim a cam when you’re being Yanked down @ 85 MPH).

I too was disappointed when they took out the cluster of inversions. I never really got excited about Loops, until the Steel Phantom! It had a Loop, Double Corkscrew, & two connected exit-out-the-side Loops ( Cobra Roll ). It was FUN and you had time to know you were upside down. But they were just the icing on the cake. The 2 MEGA-Hills, the way they're connected, the Heart-Stopping Surprise, Threading the Thunderbolt Lattice @ 85 MPH, etc. is what makes this coaster the World's Greatest!

@ejk199413 MForce is good but totally diff & WAS all about being the tallest. Its what, 40' taller? Each yr some1 builds 1 taller/faster. Only a big deal 4 a yr. TTDragster-450' & KingdaKa-480' blow away MForce. The Phantom has been a top coaster for 16 yrs bcoz it has more than records. Thats the diff between a GREAT 1 & a shooting star. If u only like records, then u only like 1 coaster & you've missed the point. Kennywood also has Sky Rocket & 3 of the best Wooden coasters ever built.

SkyRocket is 50 mph, barely even fast, plus its not entertaining at all. The 3 best wooden coasters? El Toro will beat the shit out of you. Besides, I'm not talking about records here. I just meant that the rides at KWood are all mediocre at best. The trill and air time are rough and lack the constant speed. But, you might wanna get your facts straight... Phantom only goes 80 mph and the drop is 240'.

Sky Rockets not about mph - any Moron gets that to look at it . . well, not ANY. Kwood already HAS a MegaSpeed =85= MPH coaster: Phantom. (src: Kwood - get YOUR facts str8). Millions of visitors, reviewers, & ppl still talking about how gr8 the Phantom is 17 years later, disagree w/ u about Kwood’s coasters. This is the best coaster in the World. You are FLYIN down that str8away just before that second "little" hill, & you are STILL FLYIN when you crest that "little" hill to see that you are going DOWN, steep & fast & FAR. HUGE surprise the 1st time I went on it opening year.
