  • I wish people still said groovy

  • Futurama brought me here

  • @Hermesiam Thats pretty fuckin sad

  • Is it me, or is there Punk elements in the song, through the Punk genre came later?

  • @Badbuckingsmiley If you're thinking of punk in the 1970s, punk was around long before then. Some people even consider some of the obscure 1950s rockabilly stuff punk. But yeah, there are definitely punk elements in this song.

  • @ShapelyDice okay :) i confess im not familiar with punk, so i thought it was unknown untill the 70's :)

So you can say, they are not one of the first who played "punkish" music :)

  • @Badbuckingsmiley I read somewhere that the Ramones were influenced by these guys. So I guess these guess are amongst the artist who provided a musical template for punk rock.

  • @TheFutureengineer20 okay awsome :) Thats a huge honor to inspire bands like The Ramons :) Then they could be one of the pioneers of punk :) when i were younger i didnt understood the genre, but i think today that punk is a cool genre actually :) Its great to listen to the Roots :)

  • @PaisleyWilde lol, GG

  • @1Aranil2 it sais WILD THING in big letters

  • I have heard it since it came out in 1966 and I still LOVE it!

  • 171 people were dropped on their head when they were a baby!!!

  • @bonbonthejohnmon that sounds very hevily biased. America has won wars before and if we could get back to actual fighting insted of police actions we could wars again. as about canadian's living longer and being smarter, that depends on the specific people you test, so shut up you dumb cunt!

  • Groovy!

  • rick Vaughn!

  • Thank you BF: Vietnam, for introducing me to this song.

  • The people who used the word 'groovy' back in the 60's and early 70's were usually people we would have called 'posers' if we had used that word. They were like hippies who really really wanted to be hippies. It seemed so put on. I always felt embarrassed for anyone who said it more than once in a great while.

  • @MrCook1227 stfu ur a faggot u werent even cool in the seventis you bitch lol

  • *Everyone* But I wanna know for sure!

  • i love groovy wild girls lol

  • Groovy wild things never age!

  • Groovy baby!

  • The whistling sound on the song is made from an instrument called an Ocarina. It's not a recorder. By the way, they used to teach the recorder in school because learning any musical instrument increases your brain function, thus making one smarter. That is a natural born fact. Love The Troggs. They rocked the sixties aand had other great songs other than "Wild Thing". Peace.

  • @daddyrock123 Wow, I had to go look that up. I've never heard of that instrument. I always thought it was a Tonette (if I spelled that right). That was the first little "flute like" instrument they taught in our school music class. To my poor untrained ear they sounded the same. As we used to say in the day: That's Groooovy!

  • @daddyrock123 Wow thanks for sharing the info, a grew some more brain cells reading this, I'm officially a little more smarter :)

  • What a GREAT song! I've heard it a million times and I still love it!

  • jeeah !

  • I Could imagine Being In The Sixties Dancing Wildly To This [= Stoned outta my mind on Acid o.o

  • "winning"

  • Angalina Jolie's uncle wrote this for the Troggs

  • Wierd Thing.. .You make my heart sing . WTF THIS IS A DILDO !!!!!!!

  • Swamp Thing

    You are amazing

  • The "Recorder" lead is the best part!!!

  • @latacabre1 Doesn't Jon Lord of Deep Purple play the "Wild Thing" melody at the beginning of "Lazy" on the "Made in Japan" album, man?

  • @jeffreygaudreault Deep Purple may use E, A and D a lot but they've got so much more about them than The Troggs... Deep Purple have nothing to thank The Troggs for, and the intro to Lazy bears no resemblance to Wild Thing, sorry. I do dig the Recorder solo though. They used to force us to give up our break times to learn recorder, and who ever benefited from it other than The Troggs?

  • If this song had a love button, I'd be all over it. <3

  • . . . Just For You JamesastanWAW My Friend . . . this tune is "GROOVY"!!!

  • i wish people still said groovy

  • @JamesastanWAW ikr lol

  • @JamesastanWAW -- "Groovy" lasted about as long as the Nehru Jacket and the Apache scarf of that era. Then came the 70s and those most un-groovy polyester lesion suits. the official "I'm a totally un-cool dweeb" uniform.

Anyway other than in song lyrics and on TV sitcoms and top-40 DJs I don't recall ever hearing a real life person use the term "groovy".
