@chokitpi agree with you, in war you cannot play safe always, you have to take risks, and Egypt did not want to by moving the SAM batteries that also protected Cairo, and their hesitation and what I feel was a betrayal to Syria prevented them from a stronger position in battle. @chokitpi agree with you, in war you cannot play safe always, you have to take risks, and Egypt did not want to by moving the SAM batteries that also protected Cairo, and their hesitation and what I feel was a betrayal to Syria prevented them from a stronger position in battle. Their hesitation gave Israel and the US time to resupply, regroup, reorganize and be better prepared.

The Egyptians greatly increased their number of troops in the Sinai before the war, and knowing that an invasion was imminent, the Israeli decided to strike first. And they did offer the West bank back to Jordan, the latter simply rejected the offer. It was done for the same reason that the Israeli in the end gave the Sinai back to Egypt, for peace.

There were problems to begin with yes, but in the end, the Israeli encircled the bulk of Egypt's third army and pushed far enough into Egypt and Syria to come within artillery range of both Cairo and Damascus. The only reason Israel backed off was because the UN and the US told them to. The number of Arab casualties were far higher than that of Israeli.

Today a pro-Israeli state with 15 million people would have been a buffer zone between Israel and the land of MISeRy.
