Focus may appear to have been one hit wonders in America but were not one hit wonders elsewhere. For example in the UK they had a much bigger hit than "Hocus Pocus" with "Sylvia", which is worth checking out. Another instrumental of theirs worth a listen is "House of the King" and indeed their albums deserve to be heard.
GADZOOKS! Some of this stuff is awful and hurts my ears. Focus was a European group, Dutch if I remember, They spoke terrible English back in the 70s. They did several songs that I remember. They did pretty good for a band only known at the time by their country. Head East and Focus were not one hit wonders. Head East did a lot of music and reminded me of one of the first arena rock groups. They could really ROCK with the best.Then there is Lighthouse a Canadian band were maybe ten hit wonders
Excellent, but I hear Lighthouse in there and they had about 5 HUGE Hits!!1 Like Sunny Days, (Sitin stoned alone in my back yard...) and Pretty Lady. Still, fun
Chickaboom Chickaboom by Danny Dewdrop,1971...Timothy by The Buoys, 1971...Why Can't We Together by Timmy Thomas, 1973....One Fine Morning...Save My Life, by Head East, 1972...Hocus Pocus by Focus, 1972
@chupas2526 Timmy Thomas, Hocus Pocus by Focus . The last one is by some hyphenated offshoot of Leonord Skinnord, but the name escapes me (and probably the spelling ;--))).
@lrd9999 Well, the last one wasn't the Rossington-Collins band after all and I had to do a lyrics search to find it, so I won't cheat by listing it. It was from 1975, but I don't remember hearing it that far back.
0:21-0:25 is Lighthouse, hardly a one-hit wonder! I'd Be So Happy in 1971; You Girl and Sunny Days were big hits for them in '72; then there was Pretty Lady in '73. Set the Stage went gold in the same year. Multi-hit wonder really.
I'm trying to remember a song/artist from the 70's. The end of the chorus went " and he knew very well it'd be easy as hell for a one night stand". Any help? thanks.
@MrJoenowak are you sure about those lyrics? ive searched for the las hour and cant find anything at all anywhere with those lyrics.....do you by any chance have any more lyrics from the song? ill be glad to look more

Perhaps you can help me. There was a song in the mid 70's about "Rocky">not Rocky Balboa. It was a male singer and some of the lyrics went like this, "Rocky I never had a baby before", kind of a sad song seems to be about his wife who is dying. The station I listened to normally played the top 40 Songs at that time. It was a northeast state.
@999YORK It seems that the Austin Roberts and Dickey Lee version were both released in the summer of 1975, the former was on the Billboard Hot 100 while the latter was on the US country chart. The Roberts version was also on the UK chart later that year. I never knew Lee had recorded that song until now.

I only remembered WHY CAN'T WE LIVE TOGETHER, by TIMMY THOMAS. I think it was the only one that reached the charts here in Brazil.

I know almost every one of those. I might not know the first one, I will have to replay. I know Head East, Lighthouse, and Timothy by The Buoys.

I would hardly categorize 'Lighthouse" as a one hit wonder group.

I thought Head East had a second hit after "There's Never Been Any Reason"! {AKA "Save My Life I'm Going Down For The Last Time".}
