Great song with very meaningful lyrics but.....having read some of saint soldier's own comments here I fear he's better at music than he is with real life thought. The suicide of farmers has everythig to do with the Indian occupation of Punjab. Punjab is the only state in India that does not have control over its irrigation systems. The Indian govt. gives Punjab only 1/4 of the water it needs to cultivate all of its agricultural land. The farmers can't grow their crops so they fall into debt. To protect whatever they can grow, the farmers overuse pesticides. Only a small amount is absorbed by the plants. The rest seeps into the ground and contaminates the water. Cancer is rampant. Farmers turn to suicide, drugs and alcohol.
I personally don't think we should have a Khalistan. But what I would agree to is a re-united, independent Punjab. That way the people living there won't feel like a majority or minority because of their religion, they could consider themselves all punjabi and control their own affairs. Like how everyone in Canada or America considers themselves Canadian or american. Just my thoughts on the matter

Its going to be stuck as an agricultural state, but the reason india has any power in the global community is because of the technology, and our prescence in the fields of math and science. On top of this the state has strongly encouraged the switch from subsistence farming to export led farming. Which opens the sector to foreign domination from Multinational Corporations. Not Religion. In my opinion punjab needs to be exposed to the global market. Competitiveness is good in the long run, you cant hide behind tariffs, its irrational economic theory. In regards to the fact that the government need to provide subsidies, i draw your attention to the case of the EU providing subsidies to European farmers and what we saw was an abundant amount of supply and thus burning of goods. Indeed Punjab relies to heavily on agriculture. Diversify or suffer, simple as.

If these guys are so concerned about Punjabi farmers committing suicide why do they not do something about it rather than sing a song about it. Write letters to the Indian government , or even to the Canadian government so they can do something, start a club, start a donation, etc... the list goes on. But I guess this is a good way to raise awareness.

this is amazing. brilliant use of art right here my friend. The one thing I want to say is that we should be out pursuing justice rather than fighting ourselves. Just by reading these comments of pro and anti khalistanis nobody wants to cooperate with the other and have a level headed argument. there is positives on both sides and negatives on both sides of the argument however why not worry about getting justice for all the attrocities and then worry about getting or not getting khalistan?

Great song with very meaningful lyrics but.....having read some of saint soldier's own comments here I fear he's better at music than he is with real life thought. The suicide of farmers has everythig to do with the Indian occupation of Punjab. SS's next song should be about the way we should set the example back home to have small inexpensive weddings...and thus save a sikh farmer from perpetual debt and thus save his life.

Punjab is the only state in India that does not have control over its irrigation systems. The Indian govt. gives Punjab only 1/4 of the water it needs to cultivate all of its agricultural land. The farmers can't grow their crops so they fall into debt. To protect whatever they can grow, the farmers overuse pesticides. Only a small amount is absorbed by the plants. The rest seeps into the ground and contaminates the water. Cancer is rampant. Farmers turn to suicide, drugs and alcohol.

I personally don't think we should have a Khalistan. But what I would agree to is a re-united, independent Punjab. That way the people living there won't feel like a majority or minority because of their religion, they could consider themselves all punjabi and control their own affairs. Like how everyone in Canada or America considers themselves Canadian or american. Just my thoughts on the matter

Its going to be stuck as an agricultural state, but the reason india has any power in the global community is because of the technology, and our prescence in the fields of math and science. In my opinion punjab needs to be exposed to the global market. Competitiveness is good in the long run, you cant hide behind tariffs, its irrational economic theory. In regards to the fact that the government need to provide subsidies, i draw your attention to the case of the EU providing subsidies to European farmers and what we saw was an abundant amount of supply and thus burning of goods. Indeed Punjab relies to heavily on agriculture. Diversify or suffer, simple as.

Write letters to the Indian government , or even to the Canadian government so they can do something, start a club, start a donation, etc... the list goes on. But I guess this is a good way to raise awareness.

If you did read my comment in the end I stated that the song does raise awareness.We live in Canada which is democracy, some sort of action from us will push/force the Canadian government to do something. A mans brain is his best weapon. I agree with you that Punjabis have to wake up and realize the problem and find a solution. I am not trying to act smart ignorant fuck I am just trying to make a point.
