Dude, we must have sat less than a dozen seats apart - we were dead center front row. I miss him at the Mirimar - he's at Turner Hall since last year. See you at the show Thursday!
this has become my new favorite Colin hay song... makes me think of all my lost friends and loved ones. some that are dead and just the ones that got away...
I saw him last Saturday night in Chicago. Before the song he spoke of a little girl (when they were eight) back in Scotland that used to knock him down and hold him to the ground. He said he loved that girl. Then he went into the song. It was beautiful. I will be posting some footage of the Chicago concert soon.
Thanks for sharing that. It is a soulful song. It seems to come from his life. Not sure he could make that up. I love the deep sound of the guitar too. I would love to see him in concert. looking forward to more videos. thanks :)
"Inside my pocket burns with these words u wrote..hey, darlin' boy, don't u cry for me. I am forever yours and now that I am free, we'll be together throw stones into the sea. there'll be no others then, just you and me." -AWESOME! & sad.
Does anyone believe in soul mates? He and Maggie seem be meant for each other. I don't believe in that, in soul mates, but if I had one, this is how I would want us to work. Living with only memories of the person.
If the relationship didn't work out, it would be devastating. But if I could look back with nothing but happy memories of a potentially "perfect" love, it would almost measure up.
Great artist, no? Some of the best lyrics I've seen.
I usually don't write on the internet, but your writing touched something in me.
This is a song that really moves me, in a way that is very romantic/nostalgic/sad. But those feelings are also absurd in the same time. What are memories but a bunch of images and subjective interpretations of a reality that no longer exists? Is it not better to live the moment? To try making the most out of the relationship and if it fails, to accept it and be at peace?
I think I do. I have a few that I haven't looked at yet because they are over 100MB and need to be cut down. I will post it if I have it! All of the ones I post will be titled like this one.
Yes, I have others and will be putting them up soon.(Battery died so I missed a few) I was tempted to leave work on Friday and drive up to Minn/St.Paul to see the show. Glad you liked it.
Thanks, great quality. I have seen him 3 times in the last 10 days, and 30 times total. He is just getting better and better. Do you have any other vids of him to post?

He's an extraordinary talent. He writes from the heart, a musical storyteller.

That's right nodbot; I saw him in Edinburgh, Scotland (my hometown) last year and he told the exact same story.
Absolutely wonderful song.

Maybe that's even better than memories...

This is about a woman he grew up with who commited suicide. It didn't work out because she was suffering from a disorder.

Do you have "I Just Don't Think I Can Get Over You"? Someone really needs to post a quality live version of that song!
