I seem to remember the trailer v.o. saying "from Paris...to the streets of San Francisco" when Moore is hanging off the fire truck when I saw the trailer in the theater. There must be another ad for the movie.
Great movie. Maybe not the best Bond flick, but it`s one of my favorites especially of the bond Moore era. And Walken really shines! :D Zorin is one the best villains of all bond movies.
Man, I didn't realise how much this trailer ruins all the surprises from the film. Glad I saw the film first when I was 5 and watched the trailer now when I'm 30!
@CrackedButter I think a lot of trailers nowadays give away too much about the film. They should give is a glimpse as to what will happen without revealing too many plot points.
@actionfan2000 the best trailer I've ever seen was for the Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining. It explain everything and nothing about the film. Check it out if you haven't already seen it.
@shadowloks2292 Actually he was 43 when he started in Live and Let DIe. But when he wrapped A View To A Kill, he was about 55. Even Moore himself admitted that he was getting on in years, wanting to get out after For Your Eyes Only, but he stayed on after when Sean Connery returned to Bond in Never Say Never Again; as a favor to the producers. It was his own choosing to leave, not the producers nor the fans at that time. Playing the role for 12 years can take a lot out of you.
Roger Moore was the best james bond, however I think he was too old for the part of bond in this film. Diamonds are Forever should have been his first film and Octopussy should have been his last.
Roger Moore's last movie as 007 & Dolph Lundgren's first movie. I had to pay close attention when watching this to notice him. He doesn't speak, just stands in the background. This movie is ok. 1st half was boring. 2nd half got alot better. Awesome song too
"Only one man can stop them." I wonder who that man could be? And does he have a license to order off of Denny's Senior Citizen Menu? OMG! HE DOES! Must be the Golden Acres Superhero.
My Favorite scenes, the chase in the artic, the chase in a taxi Renault 11 (I had a Renault 11 and I miss you, Snif!), the chase in a firefighter´s truck, and the ending fight in the Golden Gate.
Hands down my fav bond film. My favourite actor playing my favourite bond villain in my favourite city in my favourite decade with one of my favourite bands doing my favourite bond theme...so...yeah
Even though I've enjoyed ALL of the 007 adventures, I thought Moore was one of the weaker Bonds, except for LIVE AND LET DIE and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. On this one though, he should have retired after OCTOPUSSY. However, on the plus side, Christopher Walken, Grace Jones, and Patrick MacNee, John Barry's score, and one of my favorite Bond themes ever!
Um... Just search "Roger Moore Interview" and adjust it to where YouTube only shows videos that popped up months ago. He is at some sort of a book signing, answering questions.
I don't mind this but there is a fair few things wrong with this Bond film.
First Roger Moore is far too old for the part, The Bond girl is useless and I personally think they wasted a character in Mayday because had Timothy Dalton maybe done A View to a kill and brought a much harder edge to the film him and Mayday could have had a great fight at the end of the movie.
Many people hate this movie but I really love it. A View To A Kill is one of my favorite Bond movies. Roger Moore shines as always. Tanya Roberts is definitely one of the most beautiful and memorable Bond Girls. Christopher Walken was brilliant as Max Zorin. Grace Jones was great as well.
The main theme song was fantastic - A View to a Kill performed by Duran Duran
@StarshipMaxima Roger Moore was 68 years old in this movie. He looked even older than that. it was painfully obvious, that by Octopussy he should have quit on a good note. The stuntmen were probably getting paid big bucks by then. Moore did not even try to do one stunt himself. too old. Even his trademark funny quips were tired by this point. Tanya Roberts was hot but dimwitted and Grace Jones gave my brother nightmares. Money-penny looked like an old lady from coronation street.
@Wadsy591 Thanx...I'll take that as a compliment. I have never replied to this thread, So I don't know what your problem is. Maybe I did...That is how much I care.
@irina1296 is that really this way? there are people really who hate this film? that is crazy! you have entirely right this film are also 1 of my favourites and come at me on 7th the place in my top 15! the cast is very good! roger moore are very good (and my favoriete bond actor) and the film is very good and the song by duran duran!!! It's another routine-film that gives everything you want from bond.

Fender1976uk 1 year ago
Pros:
Zorin is a great villain
Mayday is a great henchwoman (she's really frightening)
Brilliant soundtrack (best of all, imho), based on OHMSS score
Brilliant theme song (again. the best imho)- makes me feel the danger around
Scenes in Paris and San Francisco
Cons:
Moore looks like the girl's father, should have retired after FYEO
Tanya Roberts is one of the worst Bond girls
It's actually "Goldfinger of the 80's" e.g. the Zeppelin scene, "Zorin Industries" = "Auric Enterprises" etc.
expanding 1 year ago
@expanding He was going to stop after FYEO,but
decided to continue. You have to understand that
when you are in a position like that and the people
like how you potray bond you will do more and thats
a fact.Connery and moore nailed it.Brosnan could
have but they put the blame on him cause his 4th
was'nt that great. What makes a great bond is that
knowing you nailed it by stopping when you what.
