  • Someone buy that VETERAN a beer!!! Hell yeah!!!!

  • The best vid ever..sweeeet

  • Real Alice fans are excited the band has been back with an amaze g album fir quite some time, yes we all love Lane and miss him but he chose death Alice is not about death they egknoledge the darkness and know its a part of life but don't need to wollow in it, lane made choices that led to him no longer being hear the rest of the guys shouldn't be punished more for it I love AIC!!!!!!

  • His dad reminds me so much of my dad, it's uncanny. The way he dresses, gestures, the things he says, he even looks like him. Never woulda pictured that, ha, ha! I have a ton of respect for veterans, it's cool to see the man the song's written about... one of my favorite songs.

  • Awesome !

  • Thanks for sharing this. Awesome night and great friends!!

  • FlyingVLeatherAcc Get A

    Flying V Leg Rest

  • Awesome to see THE Rooster on stage. A true American hero and the inspiration for one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

  • My father in law!!!! fucking awesome Rooster!!!

  • dont mean to be a duvall hater, he does Layne's melodic vocals just fine......but it's songs like this and Man in the Box that it becomes incredibly obvious Layne is no longer fronting the band. I guess I'll just choose to listen to Layne instead because while this guy is great, he's not the whole package.

  • @Slashownz Besides, he looks cocky and he plays the showman while at least 80% of AIC songs were about totally the opposite. It's like he's making people cheer for him at a kids party. Totally ruins the mood of lots of songs. As for me AIC is still Duvall-less and a tour performer. Great song, cool dad

  • oh man what a great song! and what a nice Dad!! god bless all veterans for the hell they've been thru

  • Took me long enough to find a video like this. I was at this show (although a bit in the nosebleeds, worth it just to see these guys though), and thought that seeing the Rooster himself on stage was one of the coolest things ever. It's also surreal to watch this video and hear the audience sing along with the song...realizing that I myself am in the audience singing along myself.

This show was a very special moment finally getting to see these guys. Won't forget it.

  • that guy is the inspiration for my 3rd favorite song. i would have loved to be there and meet a fellow soldier.

  • @darklion53 you wouldnt have met him they dont allow dipshits backstage.

  • Fuck... I'm still a fan of alice in chains... but this is NOT the same shit.

    RIP Layne!

  • To All my Nam vet buddies & to those i've never met..i love you, i respect you, i thank you. Keep The Faith.

  • POW-MIA...they're out there somewhere!! to all my Nam vet buddies & to all the ones i never met..i love you-i respect you-i thank you..keep the faith.

  • Oh yeah alice rocking! Just miss the power behind laneys voice...dont know how a such a skinny guy could sing with so much authority, my favorite singer. Well black gives way to blue i guess

  • AWESOME...STUFF

  • I don't know what to make of Jerry and his dad''s half ass shake at the end-LOL

  • @JFCantrell LOL I think it was because he had a pick in his hand.

  • @pitpov That does make sense. I never even thought about a pick.

  • @pitpov My eye sight sucks ao I never made that connection.

  • @JFCantrell He had also started playing the song already. lol

  • My dad is also a Vietnam Vet. This song speaks volumes to me!

  • It is fucking great to see Jerry's dad at this show! Jerr did wriite the song for him after all-LOLL

  • All the good musicians die young. OMFG why? like..... "john bonham, bon scott, Layne staley, Richard wright, Michael jackson, Kurt cobain. and thats only a few of them!

  • @rusteeeeeeeeeeeeeeez Well you know that 'they' say that the good die young-in a way it makes sense that all the good musicians die young.

  • @rusteeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

    You forgot Randy Rhoads

  • ive listened to this band since i was a kid and layne was the singer... im so happy to hear them back... id like to c them sometime soon...

  • i always c ppl on other pages bitching about them replacing layne... what happened happened, and its not the bands fault... they want to continue playing and they have the complete right to do so... duvall is a great replacement, his voice is about as similar as it gets... no 1 is gonna sound exactly like some1 else, but im happy w/ what they are doing...

  • @hoffman845 I totally agree with you...I see people saying "duvall just isn't the same boo hoo hooo awwwww...."well, no he isn't the same! but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a great voice and good stage presence. why are some people so hard to please? Layne Staley is DEAD....AIC is ALIVE....and I'm happy as shit about it! rock on AIC with Duvall or anyone else who joins the band!

  • @999marydoll THANK YOU!

  • Never knew Cantell's dad was a Vietnam Veteran... too cool. And I think DuVall is doing a good job filling Layne's shoes as well. Sounds great!

  • Ha ha Jerry has a cool dad.

  • 3:18 to 3:23. I swear to god, that was Layne Stahley for a few seconds.

  • @whenMomorulzhisworld A couplw years ago my husband and I went to an Alice concert and we felt the same way. Sometimes it really seems like Layne is still alive!

  • you know after watching this the new singer is not so bad i think that they got a good replacement for layne and those are very hard shoes to fill if you ask me first time i heard them play the older stuff i have the new album and its good stuff too

  • hell ya,love this song, but its not the same,( now

  • so fking happy they r back!!

with all the shitty bands that have come & gone the last 15 years.........

this is what the fk it's all about !!

    AIC

  • sooooo freakin awesome! :))))

  • This was one of the best fuckin shows, in the pit, with all the bands music, and a crowd of crazy fuckin Yankees,Fuckn eh from Canada!

  • are the songs beng played extra slow? or is the speed now kicking in? :D

  • alice in chains are great guys, we had the honor to play a medley of their songs in front of them!!!

    enjoy our video!

    klick on my username!

  • Good to see them sending one out for the troops. Not like other bands who like to spit on our great soldiers.

  • Dedicated fans are happy to see them alive and kicking. God rest Layne, but I think he'd be glad to see these performances. At least we are.

  • "crappy copicat stuff" someone writes.

It's the same band with a new guy on vocals, and the new guy is doing a kick ass job to.

The guy that wrote almost all their songs is still there. The band is still there.

The new album is one of their best. Personally i only find Dirt to be better.

I for one are glad they keep going singing all their great songs, both old and new.

I hope AIC comes to Norway soon, i'll sing along and enjoy the fact that they are back.

    AIC rock on!!

  • fuckin awesome "The Rooster"

  • The Rooster!!! Freakin' awesome!!

  • greaaaaaaaaaaat

  • DUDE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU MAN!!!! Thank you for getting this, not only is this song freakin great and this concert AMAZING but at the very end of the song you even got Jerry throwing his pick to me!

  • hell.. Go to it.

  • Roster is one on my all time favorite songs.

Soooo cool to see the ole' man on stage. An American Warrior, and all around good guy.

God Bless him and God Bless Alice In Chains.

    Lane, we miss u buddy.

  • Layne was Great, and William is too!!!! So get over yourself. The only reason you get to see AIC again is because William is there doing a great job.

  • ok ok, well im glad you like them too.

  • what a legend

  • I was gonna go but never got tickets. That sucks.

  • Cantrell's father, Jerry Sr., is a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He is the main subject of this song, Jerry wrote it as a tribute to his father.

  • i just wanna give em all a hug!!!Jerry looks great, good to see he's finally getting a little belly on him-sign of happiness.his dad is awesomegood strong accent, similar to mine.anybody know where jerry is from,i'm sure i could search it but i know someone here knows.

  • Jerry is from Tacoma, Washington. He now lives in Los Angeles California and his family has a ranch in Oklahoma.

  • His dad should be in the band!

  • wow. Jerry looks so happy. his dad got quite a southern accent there.

  • awesome!
