@ilbigg The app isn't free, you have to buy it in iTunes. Re: calls, Acrobits Softphone is a SIP Client, not a service provider. You have to have service with a VoIP provider that supports use on a standard SIP Client in order to use it. The cost of calls would depend on your VoIP provider. But if you're creative, you can often figure out a way to get free calls. For example, if you have a U.S. GoogleVoice account and either a sipgate.com or a Gizmo5 accounts, you can make U.S calls free.

I put in my VoIP.com account info and it says "ready" but when I try and make a local call, it says "error." can anyone help me?

@prettiiboiiquwan Do you have an account with a SIP based VoIP operator? Acrobits Softphone is only the software. You have to have service with a SIP based provider to use it.

when i try to add my sipgate account, the icon on the upper left corner of the keypad (normally turns green and says "ready") is always red and says "error". my google voice account works properly, but sipgate keeps giving me an error. what should i do?

@rodichs be sure you are using the correct username and password. For sipgate, it won't be your web login, but your SIP ID and password. To get your sipgate SIP ID and password, log in to your sipgate account online. Then click on settings. Scroll over the picture of a phone and click on SIP credentials to get your SIP ID and SIP password.

Can you use this app for an ipod touch for free like the app iCall VoIP using the wi-fi?

@xboxGl1tch3r If you have a SIP account you can configure on the softphone, yes. You should also have a headset with a mic if you don't have an iPod with an internal mic.

Acrobits does not charge anything to use the softphone. But what you pay for SIP service will depend on your SIP provider. Some users have a sipgate or Gizmo5 account that they use with GoogleVoice. And a lot of those users pay nothing. It does state in the app description in iTunes that you need a SIP Account to use it. Sorry if there was any confusion.

this isn't fair. I pay like $7 to buy the app and then I gotta pay an extra paycheck to make calls. I am not a satisfied customer

@JizzRagnarokOnline The softphone doesn't cost anything to use, but you need to have service with a SIP provider or a PBX that supports SIP to use the softphone and that may cost money.

When i setup my sip account, i do exactly what u did but i cant make a call. In the corner where it says what accohnt ur using, it says error. What does that mean and can u please help me?
