  • @miniraptorX get the album PRE - Epic Fits cos it's really good and kinda similar and i like it and i hope you do too!

  • Look at all the faggots in the front row jumping up and down. This isn't Little Big Planet.

  • @UglyLikeWhoa i kno jumping up and down like nigger balls on yo mommas face

  • @UglyLikeWhoa fuck you

  • these guys opened for tool back in 2006, it was tight i was only 15, and later in the show this guitarist came out and solo'd with adam jones of tool, it was sick.

  • @blocparty666 Which city was that at? I would love to search for Adam Jones - Ichiro Agata guitar solo

  • this is so uber. anyone who hates on it, eat a dick

  • lol this is some crazy shit my mate told me to cheek them out and you no what there all right

  • soundtrack for anime'. great music. I wonder, tom morelo jam with this band?

  • @drplbiftin

colchester arts centre? I was there too, there were about 7 or 8 peaks during the performance, over the course of an hour, on a Sunday night when most other bands wouldnt be interested. They were just phenomenal, ive never had my socks blown off in such fashion

  • @TheIkaraCult No, I saw them at Nottingham Rock City. Blew my mind. I also met the band at the end and got their signatures and photos with them! :)

  • nothing will EVER top seeing these guys live.

    CHANGED MY FUCKING LIFE

  • This is slightly cool. I was listening to Dysrhythmia and this came up. Love youtube.

  • So fucking good

  • My librarian friend asked me if I know Melt Banana becos I like Sigh, Gallhammer, Onmyouza, Seikima 2 etc. I also know Boredoms but didnt like. I didnt expect this shit. GREAT!!!

  • @furakkueroru

I find Boredoms to be significantly different album-to-album. I'm not sure which one to recommend to you though. Probably one of the early ones.

  • @SpacemanSchmuck I just remember hearing an EP, the whole thing was one repetitive song! Maybe that put me offf.

  • Melt banana is fucking sick. Especially live.

  • where has this been all my life?

  • this is FUCKING AMAZING, makes me want to jump more than hardcore

  • Now that's one I can hum in the shower....soothing.

  • this music makes me happy, amazing band, amazing music, peace =)

  • Would love to see them sometime in the near future.

  • where's the pit??

  • How can you listen to this and not grin ;o)

  • ironically, melt banana gives me a boner up the sky every time i hear them

  • @fibrillatorD

Is it ironic because Asians don't usually give you a boner?

  • I saw them open for Tool in July 2007. Bad ass show....

  • see you sacramento monday!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah! I was there at the Blue Lamp. Great show, but I wished they did some of their trademark short songs. My second time!

  • They're so great. My ears are still ringing from their concert last night.

  • Sioux Falls, SD Tonight FUCK YES

  • saw them tonight. one of the best live bands ive seen. ever. so fucking tight with their instruments.

  • I wanted to see them in Madison, but missed it! Sucks.

  • yea there coming to buffalo cant wait

  • if hell has a house band it would have to be these clowns

  • @naveedavee hell's way more interesting than heaven

  • I just saw them live in baltimore, our crowd was fucking NUTS!!! great concert.

  • if it wasnt for mike patton i would have never heard of this band

  • Sound stick out like a sore thumb.. hard to see

  • Comment removed

  • sludge/noise japanese gods. If you like these guys, check out Yellow Machinegun and Boredoms as well.

  • they came to melbourne like last week and i didnt even know! fuck!

  • My god, this is so weird. It is almost like the first time I listened to NIN and couldn't understand how someone liked it, but now I love NIN. Except here, I couldn't find the beat.

  • You couldn't find the beat? Are you retarded? You must not play an instrument or have any sort of rythm at all.

  • I could find one for the first part, but when she started singing, I couldn't find it anymore. And no, I am not retartded, and I do play an instrument, violin, for 10 years. So..... Fuck off.

  • Not gonna lie...the violin is pretty bad ass. Anyway...my band is opening for Melt Banana in November. super stoked.

  • That fucking rocks, what band are you in?

I saw melt banana at the fun fun fun fest in austin, crazy shit

  • I'm in a math rock duo called Chaos Minute...yeah Melt Banana is crazy in concert

  • it's just poor sound quality. Listen to the studio recordings...it's pretty rock n roll.

  • I like Melt Banana and Tool.

    Shoot me

  • although, i can see why their might be some tension between the fanbases

melt banana hasn't much to do with musicanship in the traditional sense, more with overwhelming you with sensual sound

  • Fucking hell that guy in the front can jump high.

  • GET OFF YOUR FUCKING FEET

  • Sextastic

  • great band, dead crowd..

  • Reminds me of the scene in 'Blow Up' where the kids are watching the Yardbirds do this amazing set, but they're just sitting there being too cool and above it all to react.

Hipsters everywhere are the enemies of real rock.

  • I saw this band with Tool a couple of years ago.Does anyone know why? I still don't get it!

  • Hard to say. They're a million times better than Tool, so your guess is as good as mine.

  • Sinclair Spectrum loading noise anybody?

A fav of John Peel, but just not my bag. Noise like this belongs in a violent computer game or action sequence something and thats being kind.

  • I love it when bands can do something like this, and that is to blow your mind out ya fucking skull!! Grade A stuff.

  • tool fans are terrible, then

  • We are monsters! We are vampires! We love to watch things die!

  • Hands down the coolest Experimental hardcore-punk band ever.

  • awsome!!! i was there when they played!!!!

  • i shook her hand once... one of the best times of my life haha

  • I always think it's funny when people say they listen to metal, as if it's supposed to be this crazy, alien music not meant for human ears. Death, black, and other sorts of metal that I'm not nerdy enough to list all have one thing in common: they are usually highly melodic.

  • Melt-Banana is noise rock, meaning that what sounds like noise probably actually IS.

  • @thimble288 Well, obviously you have the same preconceived than the people you criticize. Just give an hear to a song named "the mullet burden" by a band named The Dillinger Escape Plan and go tell me it's melodic. That's definitly metal and it ain't what you say. Melodically, it could even be close of melt bana if TDES wasn't just like 50x technically better, without sacrifying the energy.

  • @Moorkh I dunno how you could even compare the two bands in any way, other than both bands are good musicians and make some very interesting and enjoyable music. They're both technically amazing, they just use it differently. It's not easy to control guitar noise like that and the drumming, whilst not all over the place as pennies/rhymers is still far from easy to pull off.

  • @thimble288 haha listen to some Mortician...they're the most melodic of them all<-(sarcasm)

  • @thimble288 Too many metal fans take pride in how hard their tastes are. It's never a bad thing to have high tolerance for noise, but that doesn't mean it's more developed or "deep."

  • @EctInc If the comments here are anything to go by they're not the only ones taking pride!

  • @thimble288

    THANK YOU.

  • @thimble288 Metal is easy-listening. It's not very experimental.

  • @thimble288 I would not say that music like that is highly melodic. What the Hell?

A metal band is all about rhythm. There are certainly very melodic manifestations of metal, but the common denominator among all metal bands is sickass rhythm.

  • @thimble288

    lol nerdy

have fun with your gatorade and steroids

  • that is because is "noise"

  • so? I used to listen to death metal. don't get me wrong it can be great at times but really, on levels of what noise is it doesn't touch noise rock and noise artists, specially when you get the ones who ONLY make "noise"... metal really does sound toned down and dull, guitar wise when you listen to it. I bet they could make it a lot more characterful with some decent noise but sadly the guitars all sound the same mostly

  • There's still some decent death, like Gorguts' Obscura

  • oh sure, well I'm talking more popular widespread metal bands, the kind people like to throw names about with... I don't know! as if it's some heavy shit

  • I'm glad to see then we understand each other ;)

  • 1'st time listening to this band, this is very creative.

  • Just checking, but this isn't in english, is it?

    They're kinda cool, tho.

  • it's in English yeah

  • This isn't my thing by far but it's really interesting.

  • IM SOOOOO IN LOVE WHIT THIS!!!!

  • This is an amazing video. Melt Banana really pushes it to the extreme.

  • Love this song.

  • Just because your musical taste are limited to I'm guessing Metal, Rock and shred doesn't mean you have to be a douch about it.

  • Darwin dance with this music.

Dont waste your pseudolife posting negative comments

Why not to take it easy?

Just go to hear your extreme guitar solos.

  • Jesus Christ, barely anyone moving at that show.

  • they must be zombies

  • get fucked

  • They are probably in shock thinking "Shit, this music is so cool, thanks god that im not ElegantButtFace, the guy with no life"

    Melt Banana Rocks

  • "Vil heller nyte Hellhammers nydelige doble blastbeats <3"

  • You make that sound like a bad thing.

  • This has quickly become one of my favorite songs ever.

  • i cant think of any other band who really sounds like this, anyone know of any?

  • super junky monkey maybe?

  • i fuckin love this band dude

  • wow thats sick, it's like if you were getting all the radio signals that broadcast from earth at once and somewhere deep in all that information this pattern emerges.

  • Probably my favorite MXBX song.

  • Orgasm for my ears! =D

  • And yet you have at least 2 of their songs in your favorites?

  • Ah True. Sorry about that. I was just skeptical. There fine I guess. I like Creeps In a white cake I think.... Just saying it's not the most headbanging music around.

  • "some people" like it because it is a total destuction of what "some people" think music should be...Its not like i listen to it constantly, but it is oh so refreshing to hear utter calamity to the ears!

    see also: the locust

    ;)

  • fucking troll find a bridge u stupid fuck cause it's gonna rain on u.melt banana is no way similar to deathclock whoops i mean cannibal corpse, melt bannana will titty fuck ur mom while u watch, yup their an awesome band it sucks that shit heads like you are even given the option of hearing them

  • reeeeeeelax bro!

  • haha go find a bridge? You sir are a dad

  • because people like this music thats why and you listen to it cause you enjoy it not to jump around like a prat.

  • Some comment down there says something about moshing. I was addressing that.

I think you are misusing the word prat.

If you like noise or whatever the hell people call it im sure its good...also pseudo-intellectuals trying to impress their friends probably like it too.

  • It is probably safe to say that this band never really has to practice more than once every five years. Take that good or bad, because I am not even sure myself...

  • oh, they practice...interesting...

  • no it's really tight, they definitely practice, lots

  • Pfft. Look at that audience. If I had seen this show I would have started a mosh pit so intense a few people probably would have actually caught on fire.

  • to enjoy music you don't have to beat people

  • amen...when ian started yelling at people to stop moshing when fugazi started, it was as if he knew...now they mosh to pearl jam...sigh...how i miss the fun little shows of des moines and the circle pits of joy

  • but beating people is fun! :D

  • saw them open for Tool. rather... different? guitar dude is in love with his pedals :)

  • Pretty great. When the vocals came in I thought they were turntable scratching.

  • friggin LOVE this!

  • I was see you in Mexico, in the "Luniario del auditorio Nacional", You really fuckin rock in the escene, i love the drums and the guitar, you are one of my favorite bands now.

  • badass band

  • Amazing, can anyone put surfin USA up? Saw them play it at ATP (((2004 I think))))

  • My God, this music is so beautiful.

  • Bet you're happy having come up with that gem of an analogy.

    Well done.

For what it's worth, Melt Banana on record are just amazing. Without knowing what's going on here, it can sound like just noise. I know they give most people a bad headache but they give me a very big smile (and a bit of a headache too).

  • Go and hide under a rock, you racist git--that's the only place an attitude like that belongs.

  • You think only Japanese people do that? If so, you're A LOT more ignorant than I thought. Shit like that festers in the mind of people from just about every other race. So take your racist bullshit where it can be appreciated, as that certainly isn't here.

  • Well done for being the only person to stand up to that idiot. I can't believe how ridiculous some people are I really can't.

  • Well in that case most places are fucked up as you put it. Every single place on the planet as bad points as well as good points. Some people are jsut racist fucks who should have a long hard look at themselves and their own countires before stating crap about others.

  • Oh that is such simple minded bullshit, you think that those things don't happen in other countries, guro --> necrophilia, and maybe you were to stupid to wonder why frotteurism is deducted from French etc etc etc. Worthless piece of shit you are, I hope you get eaten by a Japanese guy.

  • I'm asuming you're from the united states, you know the country with the highest murder rate in the world, a country that averages a major war every 20 years. A country who is founded on violence and crazy fuckin rebellion. A country that invented aerosol cheese and the Mormon religion. I'm only saying this because only someone from the united states would be ignorant enough to complain about futile things such as scat porn(which was mastered by the Germans).

  • fucking hipocrite. im trolling based on country stereotypes (the japanese been sexually degenerated) and you bitch back baseing your comment on the american stereotypes (the ignorant Yankee). way to make a point. i was trolling to get someone dumn enought to bring the "stupid american" card. i do know alot about japanese culture, enought to say that theyre really weird, but that does affect the fact that Melt Banana rocks.

i should have stayed awake in class during high school. my english sucks.

  • you're hilarious you know that

  • i do.

  • people like you make the internet so annoying

  • What does it matter that they're Japanese? If it sounds good it just fucking sounds good right? Whats race to do with it?

  • If you honestly believe this, you're...not...smart.

Say you don't like it, say you prefer Kenny Loggins, but don't say it's not rhythmic and don't say it's not entertaining, because those things are not true. Enjoy Richard and Rosie!

  • i really wish that melt-banana had continued down this path- cellscape is the greatest progjazzgrind album of the century. if you combined a superhero rapist and a car accident, it would listen to this album.

  • i dont know man, Cellscape is pretty good but Teeny Shiny is a personal favorite of mine.

  • A fantastic band live

  • I'm dying to know what pedals the guitarist uses

  • Also incase you didn't understand the sarcasm in the latter part of my post i was poking fun at your inability to see the difference between melt and the many, many overhyped j-rock groups around. People don't like the boredoms "because" they are japanese, people like the boredoms because they are an excellent band. Your statement is so ridiculous it hurts, it's like me enjoying at the gates just because there swedish not because there an amazing band.

  • I havent heard of the gates, but I love the fact you say J-Rock, its the most annoying thing i have to live with, I am japanese, so should I refer to anything japanese as "j" at the start, because its so different or dissapointing?

  • I say j-rock because I believe that's the name given to it, I don't call mad capsule markets j-digihardcore; I just call them a digital hardcore band. If you wanna call it visual kei or (whatever district/fashion style) kei then go ahead, I call it j-rock because that's what I have always seen it referred to it as.
