The current best explanation of life (in a very condensed form) is that self-replicating molecules such as RNA and simpler precursors formed then developed into proto-cells which developed into the first things we would call life. This is known as the RNA-world hypothesis, which simply put means the first life was not DNA based but a simpler molecule.

Carbon dating is accurate up to 55,000 years. This is archeologically sufficient.

Actually, Kent, dogs, wolves, and coyotes are not totally different species. There are only two species there. Canis lupus (which includes dogs, wolves, and dingoes), and Canis latrans (coyote)

*he's wrong according to every single relevant piece of scientific evidence

To reduce complicated ideas such as the RNA wold hypothesis down to such a trivial level is insensible in an adult conversation, that is how you would try to explain something to a child who would have no ability to understand things like self-replicating molecules, chemical equilibrium, etc. .

@axe414 I don't have an opinion on where life started, science is not based on opinions. The current best explanation of life (in a very condensed form) is that self-replicating molecules such as RNA and simpler precursors formed then developed into proto-cells which developed into the first things we would call life. This is known as the RNA-world hypothesis, which simply put means the first life was not DNA based but a simpler molecule.

@axe414 I do not believe any of those things, again this is not about belief, our current understanding of the universe as we know it is that there was separation of energy, there was no creation. Our current understanding of life is best represented by the RNA world hypothesis, this is not adequately summarized as "we came from a rock" as a scientific hypothesis, as that is neither descriptive, demonstrative or falsifiable, unlike the actual statement of the RNA hypothesis.

@owensphil The species problem is well known in biology, and the more information that is gained the harder it is to draw a line between species because of the simple fact that it is a continuum and not a discreet series. It only looks discreet as the data set is so sparse. Note there is actually no need for the species label in evolutionary biology, it is only required (or the "kind" equivalent) in a creationist model.

There will be internal struggles as various subsections will claim differences and some will even claim they there is no right to claim and will will to be supplicant. Time will tell what mankind as a whole will converge to, if it will in fact converge at all. Given the now influence of globalization I would expect convergence.

@Serge1965 I was not arguing that God made mistakes, I am just saying that if you (and everyone would agree with you) would disregard the first man's actions because it was without effort or consequence then why would you not extend the same logic to God. To God the entire act of creation would be less effort and less sacrifice than Bill Gates giving $1 to the Red Cross.

Your eyesight is too low, you are trying to put man in a position of being deserving when reality pushes us to see that none of us would ever be able to be worthy of God's unmerited favor on our own...man's thoughts and ways vs God's Thoughts and Ways. @Serge1965 I am not ascribing any personification to God, I am simply trying to understand your rationalization of your concept. You are perfectly willing it seems to glorify God because of what he has done (his actions) but this framework you abandon completely and you judge character in people not by what they have done (their actions) but by the effort it takes. I do not understand why you have two completely divergent rationalizations.

@CliffStamp 1st, It has nothing to do with a personal concept of mine but all to do with loving Truth and 2nd, acknowledging where true authority comes from. I am willing to Glorify God but am unable with this weak frame of mine, all i can do is yield to the power of His Spirit because without Jesus Christ, i am nothing and can't do nothing of any value for Him, His people or His Kingdom now the unbelievers in all of this is another story for another day, without God, they are simply dead in sin

@CliffStamp So knowing that the unsaved or unforgiven are dead in sin and that the values of man are at enmity with God, why do you think i always stir the conversation back to God, what you seem to forget from me is that i am no longer in posession of my life that was given to Him, what you do with your life for instance is your responsibility but i chose a different path than you and many, Christ is not about democracy nor popularity, the King will rule a Theocracy and we won't get much say.

@Serge1965 I am not speaking of democracy or popularity, just asking a simple question. If you would hold to judge man by the effort he takes then why would you reverse this logic and suddenly ascribe to God a large worth of such extreme that he merits Glorification simply because of his actions and inherent power and ignore the fact that all of his actions are of trivial effort.

@CliffStamp Simply put, before we get to know Him, we all deserve hell for our rebellious and sinful nature and it is not by our merits that we get saved either, it is not about being good or bad to be elected up to make it to heaven, it is not about deeds but about realizing how corrupt and depraved we all are everything serves Him or will serve Him, even the wrath of man serves Him and this is probably one of the reasons why we have this passage:

@Serge1965 The argument of internal corruption does not deal with the question asked, it only attempts to deal with why God allows suffering, and was popularized recently by John Hicks. The question remains, when you evaluate the works of other people you focus on their effort as effort reflects character. However when you consider the works of God you ignore the factor of effort, as by definition, there was no effort from God.

@ShinigamiSirius on the contrary, the God of the Bible is knowable and wishes just that. When Jesus Christ said: Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent (Johgn 17:3) the Greek word for the verb know is GINOSKO(HEART knowledge) instead of OIDA(HEAD knowledge), a personal relationship versus knowing things about an individual. God's character is searchable in His Living Word and with His help from the Holy Spirit as Main Teacher

@CliffStamp We have to face it, unless we have Christ as Lord and recognize His Lordship, unless His blood covers our sins, we all deserve a condemnation to hell by inheritance of our sin nature and only He, Jesus is worthy of praise, adoration, worship, Honor and Glory, none of us deserve anything, it is only by His NMercy and by His Grace that we are saved, not of our deeds(Ephesians 2:8-10)

God needs nothing, He is also Self-Sufficient and Sovereign, He thus needs not our worship but as the Owner of all life in His universe, He is able to demand adoration from His creatures out of reverence for the King of kings and Lord of lords that He is. You might have free will to sin or not but to sin is slavery, Christ is Freedom, God remains in control
