Madoff may be many things but "gentleman" doesn't easily come to mind. Professor Taleb is sharp and comes from different angles and background than the Harvard - Yale crowd. He and his colleagues at Stern should be advising Obama instead of Geitner and Co.
Why do you say that he doesn't understand human nature? I think that basically Nassim's underlying problem is that people are greedy. I think that you're reinforcing his points in a way. And I think he understands human nature much better than most people. He is just using economics to describe that the best way that he can. Very few authors on modern economics have been this informative, but I do like it when somebody this well studied comes out with quality literature.
nassim taleb, dont seem to understand HUMAN NATURE, which in itself is greedy...so therefore politicians by only thinking of today and only about themselves, lead us, the people who think exactly like them(we're not better) into troubles
its not only a cycle as Armstrong puts it, its a vicious circle too
