i find its better to start off with simple songs you may never play otherwise. once you get used to singing and playing in time you can move on to songs with harder guitar parts and songs with different timings.
For singing and playing at the same time, it helps to follow a process, or to follow certain steps. However, if you were looking to learn how to sing, or even to learn how to play, then it would be good to look for videos on singing techniques or guitar techniques
hi sorry its me again =D may i know what is the chord you play after D in the verse? the fingers seem to be within the first 2 frets, bottom 3 strings. thanks so much =)
hmm, i don't know the proper way to know the timing of songs because i never went for any theory classes etc. but how i do it is to just count. For this song, notice 4 downstrokes and then change to the next chord. other songs uses 3 downstrokes etc. those are 3/4 songs
oh, the "commas" do not represent beats. I just put the commas there to signify if there's a pause when you do the strumming pattern. actually, if you go to my blog and read the post about "how to determine the strumming pattern for songs", you'll have a better understand about the strumming pattern. the chord after the D is a D7. it's played using the 1st string 2nd fret, 2nd string 1st fret, and 3rd string 2nd fret
