obviously, he HAS been practicing... to get this song as good as it is!
my dad played this song and it was always one of my favorites--- look up "Eddy Peabody" for the best and fastest version of this and alot of others great ones on banjo- not 5 string either!!!
Regardless, good job- nice to see the old standbys kept alive.
The right hand is the most difficult part of any stringed instrument. The only suggestion I can suggest is practice, practice, practice. The chords are good, but it is the sound, that music makes. Enjoy your music. Greetings Hein Overbeek
It's a classic tenor banjo tune. I got the arrangement from an artist named Tim Allan (NOT the comedian/TV/movie star.) Google Tim Allan, you should get his website.
Well i am not that great a player myself, but when i have trouble with a certain song and its my right hand i usually mute the strings and then try to play it slowly so i can only hear my right hand. Hope that helps... oh and ofcourse practice :D
kinda sounds like a plectrum banjo.

how is that banjo tuned?

I'd imagine the way banjos normally are, into the chord of G.

tenor banjos are rarely tuned into the key of G, they're usually tuned in fiths for this kind of music... CGDA

nice arrangement. The banjo's tone is kind of subdued. I like to hear a tenor banjo that is really crisp and clear. Good work. :)

Pretty good, but a little messy. You should work on your right hand technique/skill.

I couldn't agree more. It's definitely the thing that is the weakest part of every stringed instrument I play. Any suggestions on how to improve it?
