We do raise our voices occasionally, and we often visit our neighbours for coffee (Finland being #1 in coffee consumption per capita by some sources). We don't do much small talk with strangers, at least while sober, since the Finnish culture respects people's privacy.

People seem to have a terribly wrong picture of Finnish climate. The ongoing month has been warm throughout whole Finland and I've heard of reports of over 30'C in northern Finland. Finland used to be an arctic country like 100 years ago. Not anymore thanks to climate change. Oh well, can't complain about the 34 degreees we had a few days ago here in Turku.

I vacationed in Kemi for a few days. I'm American and have family in Kemi and visited with them last August. It was cool and rainy, exactly like Seattle. It's a small nice city, but a painfully long drive from Helsinki. I'd go back though. I saw Joulupukki at his village in Rovaniemi and wanted to thank him for the new laptop.

Funny that they made this program in Kemi, because it's basically just industrial town that don't even belong geografically speaking to Lapland. It's much better idea to go all the way up north to see the real Lapland.

yes but kemi is real lapland town its maybe in south but the peopol are true lappalaisia but if you want to see the moust beautifull part of finland you go to town of muonio or kittilä and of course ylläs there is true lapland when u go top of ylläs you see so mutch those beautifull snow white hills ...best time is go on Easter when sun is shinig every day ,you loved im sure :D

I visited Kemi in the summer and found it to be a nice little town. Kemi is in the middle nowhere. Rovaniemi is a short drive from Kemi where Santa Claus lives in a tourist village. Rovaniemi is far more interesting. Much more to see.

In Finland's defence: Lots of these stupid travel videos are taken in the winter, and I know that you don't live in igloos, and you don't travel around on dogsleds, and it isn't always snowy... We get the same stereotypes in Canada and its just so stupid. So on behalf of Canada and Finland: Both countries are hot in the summer, have multi million dollar houses, have lots of nice cars, and aren't covered in snow year round... just in the winter in most places.
