  • I have two Deaf children and they are advanced in academics because of American Sign Language (ASL). They don't hear at all and they still make a fine progress. I just hope that this girl will get to meet other Deaf children and enjoy the interaction using ASL. Being bilingual has its bonuses. It increases IQ points, cognitive skills, reasoning, logic and critical thinking skills. I am also a teacher of the Deaf so believe me how using ASL will make a difference and bring happiness to the Deaf.
