there is the saying if you got nothing nice to say dont say it. You guys below blowing your angry horns have taken away all your credibility with your childish name calling. Real proffesionals dont talk or act that way. And Padi like any other agency can only show you the material you need to learn its up to the individuals to make use of it. If poor judgement and diving is done by Padi certified people its their responsibilty and onis not the agency that certified them.

basically making sure you got the right kind of air for your dive, and the right amount

I'm sorry but in the PADI curriculum you can go all the way to Assistant Instructor without ever seeing anything on proper air management. Ommitting this crucial information makes all these PADI courses a joke. Recreational or otherwise. PADI's 'tech' courses are not much better. Please dont delude yourself into thinking the MSD rating makes one a competent and safe diver, it doesnt.
